This is the first resort that was built on Sanibel island and is adjacent to 14 miles of beaches covered in shells, and great views of the Gulf of Mexico. It's an excellent place for weddings, there are suites with one or two bedrooms, kitchens, sofas, and terraces or balconies. There's a kids' club and pool, too.

Located on Sanibel Island, the four-star Casa Ybel Sanibel Island Resort is close to Sanibel Lighthouse and Sanibel Historical Village and Museum.

The hotel combines tropical architecture and luxury comfort.

    Getting there

    Southwest Florida International Airport is a 45-minute drive from the hotel.

    Turn right onto Treeline Avenue. Follow to intersection with Daniels Parkway. Turn left onto Daniels Parkway. Continue straight on Daniels. After crossing US Highway 41, turn left onto Summerlin Road following signs to Sanibel and Captiva. This road will lead directly to the Sanibel Causeway. Once over the causeway, bear right onto Periwinkle Way at the first major intersection. Follow straight and turn left onto Casa Ybel Road. Follow this road straight, and the hotel will be on the left.

      Great view of the gulf from the room, lovely setting and the service was very good and friendly. Furniture was new and attractive, the Coconut bar at the pool was convenient, the food at the resort was disappointing. Our fish dinners were excellent.

      Great view of the beach from our living room and best Place on the Island. Recreational services very poor and our one bedroom suite was perfect for two adults. Coconuts poolside bar was very convenient and grill outside was a nice plus.

      Our room, actually a timeshare condo, was clean and had a gorgeous view of the ocean, beside issuse the stay was wonderful, the staff at the front desk was more than helpful. The 2 bedroom suite was nice for 2 couples and a toddler, on the plus side, the restaraunt food was delicious. The pool was fantastic.

      Clean bathrooms and bedrooms, drinks fine, great Choice. Our two daughters loved the huge toddler pool.

      Overpriced on site thistle restaurant and for your first night on the island, try the Lazy Flamingo. Almost all hotels/lodging appear 20+ years old and the staff is not accomodating and have attitudes.

      The beach is lovely and location is excellent. The decor is usually updated every two to three years, the staff is friendly and the service was good, the rooms are large and well appointed. The kitchen has gorgeous granite counters and the outside grills are very nice and usable.

      Beach just a few steps from your room to pool and beach, very good location. Great place to stay and staff accomodating. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom and kitchenette were recently renovated and clean.

      The beach is gorgeous at this section of sanibel, views are lovely and the service is excellent and the employees are extremely helpful. Rooms are very nice, updated and kitchen facility appeared to be relatively newly renovated. The restaurant is wonderful, the pool is large and clean.

      I preferred the long walks on the beach looking for shells, beautiful views and this place was all about the location and was excellent. The staff were friendly, the room itself was lovely and kitchen was in good shape and well stocked. Coconuts food was delicious, beer and wine were to be made available to guests, the pool at the resort was very nice.

      Beautiful beach tons of shells and no algae, great location. A very pleasant stay and i just returned home from casa ybel a few hours ago. Staff very poorly qualified and clean rooms. The kitchen well appointed and good restaurant onsite.

      The pool is wonderful as is the beach, just too many kids, the fitness center is not on sight, there is no spa and the bedroom furniture and linens could have been updated. The food is sooooooooo great, the service is outstanding and the menu is as good as gets.

      A well appointed apartment of a good size facing the sea and beach location is a gorgeous natural shelling beach. The rooms were clean and maid service is included each day, the pool bar has great food.
