A better than 4 star hotel at little more than a 3 star price and the staff are helpful.
Carlton hotel was a very comfortable base that was worth the money.
Although we did want to stay outside of Amsterdam both for cost and to allow us some peace and quiet away from the big city, this hotel could have been just a little better located.
Location is very excellent and the hotel is very well located in Haarlem.
The location close to city centre was excellent, the hotel was great and above all the staff were helpful & friendly.

The hotel is unfortunately a good 20 minute walk from the centre and even further to the train station but a 10 minute walk to the Botermarkt and you can get the bus to Schipol Airport.
We were close to bus stops, short distance from the train station, and within walking distance of many notable destinations in Haarlem.
Upon check-in on Sunday, April 15th, several twin-bedded rooms were not available as the hotel was fully occupied except for the double-bed rooms assigned to us.
Staff was very friendly, bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
The beds in the room were extremely comfy.

The hotel has updated the rooms however forgot to modernize the bathroom as well.
Very good location, in a great little Dutch town and the restaurant was the nicest part of the hotel - nothing fancy just a comfortable place to grab a bite to eat.
There is a great little Irish bar round the corner, coffee shop too.
It was a long, 2+ mile hike to the train station each day and about a mile hike to local restaurants, shops, etc.
The buffet breakfasts and evening meals served at the hotel were terrific.
The breakfast was brilliant and the price tags of their dinners was quite high.
The service by reception staff was inconsistent: there warm, helpful staff members, but also one man, in particular, who was quite rude.
Convenient to Haarlem shopping centre, the hotel itself was nice and the staff were very friendly.
Free internet access in the business centre was appreciated and the staff was great.
Location near shopping area and train service to Amsterdam convenient and frequent.
We drove to the hotel and used the parking garage underneath.
I believe this is a municipal parking garage and it was about 12 euro for the amount of time we were there (less than 24 hr.
We had rented a car and therefore chose this hotel as there is nearby, convenient parking.
Quite a walk away from the center of Haarlem, the hotel is very clean and welcoming and the rooms are well furnished by European standards.
Staff was exceptionally helpful and fresh rose in the bathroom.
