Carlisle Bay Saint Marys - St Marys

The location is beautiful and the beach perfect- I can't comment on the pool (although it looked nice) as I didn't visit during the day!

We thought service was also very good for the location and people were incredibly friendly.

Carlisle Bay has everything I would want to find on my holiday-excellence in standards and amenities,a truly breathtaking location and true hospitality.

Our taxi to take us back to the airport was running late by 5 minutes.

We arrived on 20th December with our two children aged 12 and 8 to find no one to meet us at the airport.

The newly built Ocean Suites are immensely spacious, with extremely comfortable beds: however not everyone will appreciate the bathroom area with no privacy at all from the bedroom when you're actually in the bathtub.

Room : Ocean Suites are designed for people with children, the spare room has a bed in it, which if there is just the 2 of you, just gets in the way.

The ocean view suites are rightly aimed toward the couples market and following advice from this site we reserved a top floor room whose outlook and vista from both the bed and balcony never failed to disappoint.

Beach Suite, however someone will then draw the short straw and end up in the single bed in the small room!

In the evening the tireless maid staff would return to turn over your bed,supply fresh towels,draw the curtains and prepare the room for a night of blissful and unashamed relaxation.

The Indigo By The Beach restaurant served breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dinner at the East Restaurant was very good, food being an eastern fusion of Japanese, Thai and Philippine cuisine.

We did eat in the Indigo on the beach restaurant one night but preferred the room service menu as it wasn’t as noveau- cuisine.

East is cool, asian fusion which was nice though not if you are comparing it to Zuma whereas the beach restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner was consistently good.

Service was slow at each meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and food of an evening was ok.

The front desk staff are very efficient--when we checked in, they had originally reserved a 2nd floor suite for my parents, and a ground floor suite for me.

The General Manager and his staff are helpful and very polite and the service is great, but understand this is Antigua not London or New York, so chill out have a glass of champagne and be patient.

Staff were efficient, room service was also great and the drinks were all delicious.

The live piano music in the lobby /pool bar is terrific.

Spa is gorgeous, treatments are first-rate, gym & tennis facility rival best in Carib, movie theater and library are nice extras.

Spa and gym - we never made it there, looked great, but in 7 days there was just too much elase to do!

The library has great books and two computers w/ high speed internets.

The rooms are very fresh, clean, comfortable and very spacious.

Our room was fantastic, right on the beach, extremely clean, modern, minimalist, layed-back yet sophisticated & elegant.

Furthermore clean clean rooms, superb food and spa was nice.

First impressions bore out earlier reviews: cool, minimalist decor; informal and relaxed check-in; lots of verdant greenery; a huge clean master bedroom with separate office / kids' bedroom (we were in an upstairs beachfront villa).

The room was beautiful, well appointed and spotlessly clean.
