  The Lodge is at the top of the Cape Fox hill and can be reached by car, or funicular (think hillside elevator). The front desk is friendly and efficient. The bathrooms are very big, especially by Alaska standards. Breakfast is large and comes to the table quickly.

• The Heen Kahidi Dining Room

  The Dining Room really is the "Heen Kahidi Dining Room" (translated to: "The House on the Creek". But the hours in the summertime are limited. To make guests' experience more enjoyable is to actually have time to enjoy a late night dinner at the dining room! Everything else is flawless, except for the short dining room hours. But other than that, Cape Fox Lodge in Ketchikan is one of the best hotels to stay at during your vacation getaway to Alaska!

  The staff was lovely at welcoming us so late (almost midnight). The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom were very nice. The TV was large and had a nice selection. It was too dark to tell about much of a view, but the food was quick and very good. The second was that the lotion bottle in the bathroom had been used.

  We booked our rooms well in advance, and had rooms with nice views looking out over town and the water (the water view is obscured when there are cruise ships in port, but that's not the hotel's fault! The baths were outfitted with the expected amenities; the room also had a small refrigerator which was a bonus. Interactions with the front desk were efficient and friendly. The hotel is located high up on a hill; there is a funicular to access it directly from the Creek Street area if you are on foot (we had a car, but often used the funicular to just go back and forth to town). We ate several breakfasts and one dinner in the restaurant - all meals and service were good. The bar is also a pleasant place to enjoy a cocktail before heading out for your evening's activities.

  The rooms were spartan (you'd think a Native-owned property would at least put a few relevant prints on the walls), but spacious, comfortable and clean.

  The rooms are spacious with good sized bathrooms. The restaurant was very good with excellent service. We had a beautiful view of the harbor from our room. There is a funicular cable car from the hotel to Creek St shopping & the town of Ketchikan.

  Most of the service in the hotel was provided by the Cruise West customer service desk so I cannot comment on the service from hotel staff.

  The rooms are spacious with good sized bathrooms. The restaurant was very good with excellent service. When we tried to come back up it wasn't working and it had a note on the door "temporarily out of service".

  Rooms facing the mountains overlook the entrance and with staff leaving and being picked up (none too quietly) until well after midnight these rooms should be avoided. Quieter rooms overlooking the water cost more! Finally, if one is not driving one's own car one needs to use the hotel's cable car to get down to and up from town.

  Location-private and secure.

  Bed was poor quality-needed more comfort.

  Great experience. Arrived at hotel and was greeted and served well. Room was nice and clean. Would stay there again.

  Get updated schedules so customers can have up-to-date information. Rooms ok (nice view) but mattress was not good (old).

  Biggest problem was that front desk had poor knowledge of tourist-related schedules, especially how often airport ferry ran, start times, etc. Also incorrect/poor knowledge of city bus schedules.

• Our room had a lovely view of Ketchikan Creek with the town and Tongass Narrows in the distance. The location was perfect, with a tram that carried guests to the tourist streets below.

• The staff and restaurant were very nice and we decided to make a return visit and do some fishing the following year. When we stayed at the hotel we found the staff extremely helpful, the restaurant very good and the rooms themselves more than adequate. We find the staff continuing the fine tradition of helpfulness with all of our requests.
