  We originally booked Brisas del Mar but upon arrival learned it is now Arenas del Mar and not what we expected for $150 per night - we had to carry our own luggage up the stairs and found the room didn't even a window and was dirty. Even though on a busy street the beautiful pool is in a secluded courtyard. Staff was very friendly and the food was great regional Mexican. Rooms were big and clean with free internet access and cable tv. We were in town for a family reunion and the central location worked out very well as a meeting place for all the folks in from out of town.

  The room was average and in need of a redo. The non-smoking room had an intense flowers smell probably from some spray. The bathroom was impecably clean and well stocked of towels. This is known as the best hotel in Tampico, but rooms are very average, though staff is truly great. The front desk staff was very friendly, same as personnel at the ballroom where the party was. Food was good at the banquet, but the breakfast was incredible.

  The carpet was worn, the beds were very hard.
