Callas Hotel Am Dom Cologne - 科隆

Great location if you do not mind to be right across from a porn store and next to a gun shop.

This family run hotel is in a perfect location in Cologne.

Our room was clean, comfortable and the hotel is the best location you could wish for.

It all started at the airport where the "non-German" taxi drivers had never heard of the hotel.

Finally made it to the area of the hotel, but as the hotel is located on a pedesrianised shopping street, the taxi had to drop me off about 200 metres from the hotel entrance.

We had a triple room, (room 24, I believe) with twin beds together, plus a fold out chair-bed (like a single sofa sleeper?

The hotel has had very recent renovations and the rooms and bathrooms look brand new.

I had a sizeable, single room with a nice ensuite shower room and toilet.

The rooms are small but clean, and our room was very quiet because it faced away from the busy pedestrian traffic.

The bed was hard and the pillows were FLAT.

The staff meets in the breakfast room at 6 am and the loud talking begins, as well as the clanging of dishes and silverware.

Breakfast was a typical German affair with as much as you could eat bread rolls, meats, cheese, yoghurts, fruit and cereal with juice, tea and coffee.

We liked the the location a lot, and walked everywhere, including to the boat dock for a short river cruise and to the Chocolate Museum , Sports Museum, along the river, across the bridges and of course to all of the shops and restaurants.

It's literally just steps away from the Dom, as well as our new favourite restaurant, Brauhaus Fr?

The breakfast was okay (not fantastic, though).

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The young staff are very pleasant and helpful with the reception being open 24 hrs.

On each occasion I heard back from the staff.

I found the staff to be extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.

We stayed for a lenght of time there, the staff was great.

I'd like to thank Ben and his staff and to say that we will definitely be returning next year.

Excellent location, central station and car parking is a short distance away.

The rooms are basic but roomy and very clean.

Although we had a room which hadn't been renovated as yet, it was still clean and comfortable.

The tub looked to be either not very clean, or just badly worn porcelain.
