Id rather spend a little more money and a few blocks away from the beach than staying at this hotel.
Someone scammed us, not sure if it was the hotel but we ended up paying for it ourselves-about $75 and it had to be cash!

Now, the location of the hotel is very good.
We arrived at the airport and called the California Othon, since their ads said that they provided pick-up at the airport this was one big reason I decided to make reservations with them.
Location is very convenient and easy to get taxi.
The "double bed" that we had reserved was two single beds pushed together (separate sheets and comforters).
The rooms are not fancy - but who goes to Rio for the hotel room?
The staff was nice and the bed sheets had seen better days.
Including the paint of the bathroom and bathtub.
It is an old building(they still use keys) the bathroom was small and the shower had small courtains, so after a shower, water is everywhere.
Laundry, the Beach, Shops, Centers, Banks, Restaurants are all nearby.
I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights,the breakfast was excellent, and the dinner in same block just turning round at right is well offered,fresh and the personal who serves is optimus.
On a good day the water was luke warm on a great day I got hot water and the breakfast was very nice.
Breakfast is good and the Chinese reception clerk is cool.
Breakfast was wonderful - so much fresh fruit - and would easily set you up for the day.
Location is only thing going for this old beat up in bad repair hotel, friendly front desk staff and the breakfast served in your room is very nice.
Furthermore service was fine and the ladies at the concierge desk were great.
Stay in a more comfortable hotel and the staff really friendly.
High price and staff is friendly and helpful.
The view accross Ipanea beach was spectacular, the hotel only paid me 665 reais and the service was also very efficient.
At the Sabre system, the hotel chain (Othon Hoteis) offer a free shuttle service between airport-hotel-airport.
We actually returned once to find the door wide open, because housekeeping did not make sure the door was shut.
Location is the only good thing about this hotel, rooms are clean.
The place is clean, staff is friendly and the rooms are quite bright.
The bathroom was large and breakfast was wonderful - so much fresh fruit.
