The smell and the slightly higher price withstanding we agreed that this would now remain our hotel of choice for future visits.
They fail to mention on their website that the pool is closed until May yet still charge full price and their private beach was unkept very small and didn't have signs to say it belonged to hotel calabona!
Quiet hotel and for the pumped up price we paid.
I probably would have been all right with this hotel had I been paying the package holiday rates that the other guests were.
The location was perfect and also made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.
A great location overlooking the bay to the south of the town of Algerho, the hotel staff were excellent and the room itself was fine.
Warm enough for the beach and quiet location.
The private beach is lovely, alghero is also well served by its airport and the hotel pool is great.
It was walking distance to the town center and about 20 minutes from the airport.
The rooms were small but modern (Flat screen TV, mini bar, safe and hairdryer, wonderful views) and above all spotless.
The rooms are pretty basic (no hot-tubs or english satellite channels!
Our room was a good size, with an excellent bathroom and honestly the best view across the pool beach and coast.
The only down side was the quite frankly awful smell that emmenated from the bathroom drains: the staff seemed unable to do anything other than offer us air freshener (no discount and no change of room as they were full).
The beds were very comfortable and the room was cleaned to a high standard.
The breakfast had a good selection and restaurants in town (only 15 mins walk away along the seafront) were reasonably priced with great food.
True, they ate in a separated part of the dining room, but they grabbed food as if they hadn't eaten for weeks at breakfast.
The bar is cheap and breakfast - well may be plentiful.
The cleaning staff greeted us with a smile and a hello every day, the people in the bar and restaurant were so attentive and friendly, and the receptionist was so eager to ensure we were satisfied with everything during our stay.
Breakfast was standard european mass catering buffet served in a basement restaurant.

Hotel Calbona is an extremely clean and quiet hotel with exceptionally friendly staff.
