Hotel Caesar Augustus Anacapri - Anacapri

Best Things: location, location, location.

It is on a wonderful cliffside location, the views are incredible.

There is no such thing as a perfect hotel and this one certainly is not perfect and it does trade heavily on its location and view.

Napoli airport, but we were asked to pay the taxi from heliport to hotel : he could at least have arranged the full transfer himself and charge it on the room; this is a minimum for a 1650 EUR service!

As to transportation there is taxi service readily available to Capri Town for 12 Euro each way or, if you want to save a few Euro, you can take the local bus which stops directly across the street for 2 Euro.

4 poster bed, single jacuzzi bath, Sky TV, minibar (in bathroom!

Our room, a junior suite, was truly gorgeous, cool and classically decorated, the bed was divine and we had our own little private terrace and garden overhanging the clifftop, totally breathtaking.

Other good things include most of the rooms themselves - we did have a four poster bed and the room was beautifully decorated and well appointed.

In fact, we asked to be moved because we couldn't walk to the bathroom or even lie in bed without being seen by other people standing on their balconies.

The suite was adequate, although our bed was two singles pushed together.

Other things: breakfast is fine, yes the pool is a bit chilly but the view is so amazing, and the restaurant food is distinctly average.

We ate only breakfast here so I can't vouch for the quality of the lunch or dinner food.

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is abundant.

Truly beautiful, tastefully appointed rooms, drop dead views from the rooms which have their own private patios, ample breakfasts, a spectacular pool and adjacency to restaurants, shops and sites including Axel Munthe's home.

I agree with some of the other reviews that the hotel's restaurant is pricey and the food is nothing special, but my huband and I ate there one night and we both agree that the view from our table was priceless!

The attentive service we received from Francesca at the front desk or Franco, the concierge made our stay extremely pleasant.

The front desk staff and service is patchy, some are excellent some good, some really need re-training.

All of the staff were extremely friendly and a special mention must go to Franco, the concierge who has been there for 42 years.

Beautiful views, staff in the hotel were attentive and the service was even better.

When we needed a lift to town they laid on the shuttle bus, when we wanted a restaurant recommendation they not only booked it for us but also ensured we received a special welcome on arrival.

We booked a garden view room to save money, but were really disappointed to find that "garden view" = parking lot view.

The multilevel terrace & gardens surrounding the pool are a wonderful place to just chill out.

The rooms were clean, but small and not that comfortable.

The rooms are fresh and rival the other 5 stars of Capri, like Quisisana, Casa Morgano, and Scalinatella.
