Butterfly Beach Hotel Christ Church

The butterfly beach hotel has a great location, close to airport, close to the gap and a supermarket just up the road.

We decided to book the Butterfly Beach based on the decent pricing of the rooms and location.

We have been visiting Barbados for the last 6 year & usual rent an appartment on the south coast but this year we were getting married & family & friends came over with kids so we needed somewhere suitable for all that was in a good location.

I must say after the arrival at the airport ,the journey by bus to the hotel was interesting to say the least.

Bridgetown was wonderful, although you get off a bus and you are immediately asked if you want a taxi!

The penthouse was beautiful, Large kitchen, a6 seat dinette area, a large living room, cable tv, one bedroon (mine), had a king size bed, full bath, with shower & tub.

We had a sea view room 314 in the new block that came equipped with a huge bed, bath, shower and kitchenette and brand new satellite TV.

110- A ground floor room of the same standrad (clean, double bed, kitchentte with all rqd utensils, AC, fridge, TV with BBC/CNN) this room was about 3/4 rooms away from the bins and on the ground floor so they were now out of sight.

Our room was quite large had a King size bed, huge bathroom with a shower with a side view of the ocean it had a fridge and a kettle and was clean.

We stayed in the old block overlooking the coconut palms and gardens,the room was large,queensize bed,phone,fridge,tv (live premier football?

Breakfast and all evening meals are served in the bar/ restaurant which is built in a colonial style, and this overhangs the ocean.

The staff were friendly and polite (especially at the bar, which doubles as the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner).

We cannot comment on restaurant or bar as we had car for whole stay and ate and drank outside.

I did not eat at the restaurant, as I wanted to try more island flavor at the local "restaurants.

This was handy as we tended to have breakfast in the room, due to the food in the restaurant not being particularly good.

Staff service at the hotel was average, they have quite dry personalities so do not expect warm welcome, however some days there were friendly people on reception.

Interested to see that the reviews of Butterfly Beach now vary and I agree with the most recent, as this is not even a 2 star hotel and the staff (apart from one receptionist and the chamber maids) are not happy in their work.

Reception staff to be on the whole helpful and friendly, a nice big bath so you could relax after a hard day sunbathing.

The hotel also boasts a jacuzzi deck, a lounge deck, and a pool deck - all situated on the ocean side so there is a nice, constant breeze.

The pool/jacuzzi's and sunbathing decks were very tidy, there seemd to be plenty of sunbeds to go around.

There are not enough umbrellas for shade they are mostly around the tables the 3 spa's and the tables by the pool.

Note this is not wireless so bring your own Cat5 network cable.

The room was kept clean and tidy our cleaner Wilma did a great job of cleaning up the mounds of sand we brought in from the beach.

Rooms were spotless and prices were cheap for food.

Rooms are clean and the days short - Sunsets from the bar can be spectacular.

Clean rooms, for excellent a la carte food.

A lovely little hotel, staff werent always talkative or friendly and the room was very clean.
