  Stayed here for 3 night Xmas Break, Hotel is set in a lovely peaceful location right next door to Bunratty Castle and across. Rooms were small but well equipped with kettle, iron tv etc.

  10 minute drive with easy access and parking.

  The Castle Garden Townhouse assigned to our family of four was not clean, and 3 of the radiators were not operational. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We were able to take advantage of wi-fi service in the large public area of the hotel, where there were plenty of chairs, sofas, and tables. Overall, the accommodation was only adequate, and we all agreed we would not stay at this location again.

  Our adult children had difficulty sleeping due to the noise and lack of heating. The hotel desk was contacted and an employee was sent to repair the radiators, but he was unable to do so. The 3 full bathrooms were extremely dirty. There was always plenty of hot water for showers, as each shower generated it's own.

  On a brighter note - the pool is real nice, but that's about it.

  My advise - if you wanna stay there ask for a room in the newer part of the hotel and don't bother having breakfast. We were a group of 11 staying there over a weekend and a few of us were allocated rooms which were mouldy, smelly and tiny. Buffet breakfast was below miserable I have to say. I'd also like to mention the efficency of the reception staff - 1.

  The Manager offered us tea or coffee in the lobby while we waited, within minutes we were having tea & biscuits by the cosy fire. I could have sat there all day watching people pass by in the busy lobby. We received our key and our room was also cosy and clean. Check out next morning was busy but with no delays, the Manager asked us how was our stay and when he would see us again.

  On entering we received a warm welcome from the receptionist, our room was not ready yet as the hotel was busy from the night before and we were early.

  PROS: The check in was flawless and the Staff very accomadating. We had a 100 series room the first time and it was O. The location is excellent, a short stroll to the Castle, shopping or other restaurants. CONS: The general condition of the rooms we stayed in. There was a table and two chairs in the room. The chairs did not match and the furniture was scrateched and banged up.

  The 400 series room had several items in the Bathroom that were broken including the toilet paper holder.

  Had a farewell dinner at the Bunratty Castle which was very entertaining and surprisingly good food I thought, however what happened to me when I got back to my room topped off the entire hotel experience.

  There were holes in the floors of the hallways (not joking) with rugs and mats thrown over them, holes in the walls of the room where the door had slammed into the wall. The rooms were basic, very musty smelling (perhaps years of smoke enveloping the walls, sheets, pillows, carpet, etc. I had an opilionid freely running around my room on the floor. I immediately called the front desk and requested a new room and of course I could not be accomodated by Pauline, who by the way, was rude, unprofessional, and really couldn't be bothered that I had a rediculous looking eight legged creature on my floor. I then requested my money back since I would be sharing my room with the spider and was more or less laughed at. The money you're saving by booking this hotel is a long term money loser for your company. To Future Tourists of Shannon, Ireland - Please avoid this hotel at all cost.

  The room was dirty, the toilet was filty I had to use clorax wipes to clean it off.

  The bath tub had mole around it, the sink was literally coming off the wall. The room was freezing, the hotel clerk tried for about 30 minutes to fix the heater no success. Threatening to sleep in thier lobby they finally put me into room 431 or 411 I forget which. It had cobwebs, the comfortors on the beds looked as if someone had slashed them to pieces the rug was filty, and to top it all off the t.

  Food was GOOD (a rare thing in an Irish hotel! And the staff *were* helpful & friendly.

  Our room was musty and the noise from a band playing into the night was loud and kept us awake.

  There are many many other options with good access not only to Shannon Airport but to the Bunratty Complex should you wish to visit this very touristy trap place. The reception and staff are quite excellent. The fitness area is apparently quite nice and stocked with new machines.

  The lobby is spacious but threadbare with dirty windows. The rooms are small, dirty/stained carpeting, dirty walls with holes, peeling surfaces, mold around the tub, room and hallway reeked of cigarette smoke--exterior halls had dirty/patched carpeting, dirty walls.
