  We arrived to a friendly receptionist and helpful porter who showed us to our room which had an inland view. The pool is very clean and well kept and the garden areas around the complex are lovely. This also had an inland view but was really nice with its own garden area and terrace.

  The bungalow we were first shown to had a side door that didn't lock so the receptionist apologised and immediately gave us another bungalow. Lunch is salad with a few hot food options.

  Our bungalow was adequate but damp, bedroom ceiling had mould on the roof. Starting with the positives, the pool area was clean and with 1 heated pool which was very good.

  The cleaning of rooms and housekeeping was nearly non-existent. The restaurant was small and struggled to fit everyone in, the choice of food and presentation was very poor, but fresh bread every day. We were told that the hotel is shutting for refurbishment – that would explain the lack of cleaning/housekeeping staff.

  The club riosol is very good for childrens entertainment i am 14 my 2 sisters are 16 and 9, during the day me and my youngest sister went to a kids mini club we did all sorts played in the park we played games and we also did some colouring pictures and there is plenty more to do and they had equipment to use in the swimming pool like lilos dolphin little boats and more. There are 3 swimming pools 1 is a little one for the younger children and 2 bigger pools 1 of them pools are heated which is very nice to swim in and the other big swimming pool is cold but it is nice if you are very hot and want to cool down. The staff that work there are very nice and helpfull and polite and most of them talk very good english the lady who runs the kids club was called cindy she was very nice and good with children we spent alot of our time with her and she speeks very good english and also other launguages. The meals are very nice for breakfast they have a variaty if you like. The rooms are clean and tidy the cleaners come in 3 times a week you have a you have atelly in your livilng rooms wich costs you 3 euros for 24 hrs.

  FOOD is something to be desired, COCKROACHES allover the food, morning lunch evening, they only cater for the spanish/germans its not an ENGLISH place to stay, the staff dont speak english, ROOMS very basic, crawling with fleas,mossies,jumpin spiders, they dont clean the rooms everyday, and when they do its a quick mop round with.

  No air condition in any part of the place not even in the so called resturant, if that's what you could of called it, just a small room with tables.

  Yes there was one cockroach but it was the size of a woodlouse! Yes there were some ants but only if you left food lying around the apartment. Some of the food didn't look very appetising but when you tried it it was actually really nice. The pool was great and plenty of room to lie around although you have to get your towel out there early to get the best spots!

  The food was not always the best but there was so much choice there was always something that you could eat; from bread to salads; hot food to some dodgy looking puddings. There were snacks around the pool all day and the cake that was brought out at 4pm was worth getting up from the sun lounger for! There is a free bus to the beach if that's more your thing but being by the pool was enough for me! Some light bulbs needed changing but if you spoke to the hotel staff they were very accommodating.

  The rooms were cleaned almost every day, the bed lining changed once a week, and the towels 3 times a week as stated in the information leaflet on checking in. The staff were excellent, especially Juan and Carlos on reception, Serge who was in charge of darts, archery, water polo, pistol and rifle shooting, volley ball and football, and a lady who ran the Kids Club (sorry I can't remember her name). Very children friendly as it has a "no smoking" policy.

  The only thing that didn't work was the TV but that didn't bother us anyway,. My 8 year old didn't join the Kids Club because he was having too much fun in the pool.

  Food left a lot to be desired ate out more than ate in considering "all inclusive" not recommended.

  The bedroom constantly smelled of cat pee thanks to the local strays. Entertainment staff ok even though only two of them they worked really hard. Reception staff rude, one even assaulted another holiday maker - how nice. Beds changed by ourselves after 9 nine days of sleeping in same ripped, stained bed linen.

  Our room was cleaned four times a week with fresh towels each time. It has 3 pools, two large ones and a kids pool. Next to the pool is a great beach bar serving drinks and toasties. The restaurant was great (we only ate out once) they put out a nice array of food - there was only chips and rice twice in the whole week! The staff are friendly and hardworking, and all speak english. There was a free shuttle bus everyday which took us into the nearby town and beach, and brought us back later on.

  The garden chairs are so weathered you can't even clean them anymore and they are dirty, also a leg broke of the garden table spontaneously when we were eating at it (we saw later that this couldn't have been the first time but nobody took the initiative to repair it). Personel was very pleasant and the swimming pool was excellent. I've never been happier to go home during a holiday and my advice would be, go to the island because it is nice and the people are friendly, but DON'T GO TO THE RIOSOL!

  The kitchen furniture is incomplete, and the kitchendoors are hanging crooked (they almost fell of). The curtainrails were broken and they were literally taped to the door and windows with scotch tape. There were no mosquito nets in front of the windows so you had to sleep with the windows closed as protection against the mosquito's and the room would get so hot you could hardly breathe. When keeping the windows closed didn't help enough we got mosquito spray from the cleaning lady and we sprayed the bedroom before we got to bed, that helped against the mosquitos but we had headaches of the dirty stuff (and our 10 months old baby had to sleep in that room too! There were also lots of sowbugs in the bedroom, one night one was creeping over my face.

  The pool area is nice, but there finishes my list of what is good about the place. We had a two bedroom bungalow, which was quite pleasant on the outside, but in desperate need of refurbishment inside.

  We had to pad out the gaps in the doors and windows as they were so rotten they had come away in places. The beds were like camp beds, and the kitchen area was a joke, you wouldn't use any of it - it looked like it hadn't been washed in a long time. It reached the point with the restaurant that we ended up eating out because the food was that bad - and when we were out we saw many other guests also doing the same. My advice would be not to go here, not only were the facilities bad, but the general attitude and service of staff was very poor - they didn't seem to care whether you were happy or not.
