The receptionist was excellent and put me at ease in a city strange to me. The room was basic but clean. Breakfast was good. All staff were pleasant and efficient.

The external area and reception area of the hotel were less than welcoming (temporary notices stuck to the entrance door and non- customers hanging around). Tv in the room didnt work.

The location was good and the price was reasonable.

The dining room was cold. There were no instructions in the room about the availability of tv channels. The food was edible but it was like eating reasonably good school meals.

Very well situated. Not uncomfortable. Has seen better days. Could do with a complete makeover. Ashtrays for smokers to use on balconys are not sucha good idea as there was a slight smell of smoke in the rooms and alarms went off late at night, probably because of smoking.

As above, ashtrays probablt to allow smoking on balconys, and this was almost certainly misused resulting in a slight smell of smoke and alarms going off.

        Location and price

Lack of internet access in rooms (big improvement if this could be changed)

The staff were very polite & immediately changed our room quickly & efficeiently when we were given a double by mistake instead of a twin with no argument. The rest of the staff were all friendly & polite too.

I hated the awful tea urn used for breakfast tea & coffee in the morning. I was surprised not to have an individual pot. You could provide tea pots on the tables and ask patrons to fill it themselves with hot water but the horrible stewed urn tea is so outdated and tastes awful. This needs changing urgently? I saw other patrons commenting on this unfavourably too. The rest of the food was mostly self service but was reasonable if limited on choice available.

Lots of noise from street below and we were 6 floors up, television old and on it's last legs. Breakfast staff were miserable 10 mins to get seated with no one in front of us

Good location. Staff are friendly. On the first night our room was very cold but the assistant duty manager promptly moved us to another room.

Nothing I didn't like but it could do with some upgrading
