  The rooms have a very unpleasant look and smell - mostly from dampness. The elevator is quite scary and very unsafe. Breakfast (for which you pay more than 6 EUR) is extremely disappointing consisting of: one croissant (greasy like hell), one piece of bread, some butter and coffee. Staff were quite unfriendly, but maybe this perception is due to cultural differences.

  We were booked in at this hotel and after reading the reviews we were concerned but I was pleasantly supprised the room although very basic was clean, bed was clean, staff where very helpfull and breakfast was nice. Only the noise let this hotel down it was a pleasant hotel and we got good value for money from the hotel.

  5 am and we had to be up for breakfast at 8, we were left tired and stressed for the next day and sunday night was not much better.

• The room was basic,no iron or tea and coffee and just a bath, no proper shower, but clean and serviced daily. The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part.

  This hotel is dirty, the staff isn't friendly, they never tried to speak anything but French. I had a problem with a dripping bath one night with no help and no money compensation for it.

  It is near the metro and the area isn’t too bad

  The staff wasn’t very friendly. The lift is old and smells terrible however the stairs are unlikely to be better as the hand rails are broken on some levels and it nearly fell at one point. The room itself was poorly lit, damp and smelled a little strange perhaps due to damp. There were tiles lose in the bathroom along with the hand basin stand. No timely cleaning and new towels.

  Bristol Republique Hotel's staff was friendly and spoke english, breakfast was good, and the rooms were equipped with satisfactory bathroom facilities and a TV.

  Mi estancia en este hotel fue una terrible experiencia.Era la primera vez que mi ahora marido y yo viajábamos juntos al extranjero y este hotel nos arruinó el viaje.Hicimos la reserva a través de halcón viajes y tampoco ellos nos respondieron correctamente.En nuestra opinión esto no es un hotel,sino un albergue para comerciantes árabes,el hotel estaba lleno de ellos con sus mercancias por los pasillos.Ni que decir tiene que las instalaciones eran patéticas y todo estaba sucísimo.Voy a intentar publicar unas fotos que saqué que hablan por si mismas.No recomiendo este hotel a nadie...Además la zona es malisima,céntrico, pero en un barrio marginal lleno de maleantes.Por favor no vayan,busquen otra opción

• Plus jamais : vraiment atroce

  Ma fille (17 ans) et moi-même sommes arrivées au Bristol République un dimanche après-midi. BookinHotel nous a réservé une chambre dans cet hôtel au lieu d’un autre du même nom qui était assez haut de gamme. L’hôtel était sombre et l’éclairage était sous minuterie, du coup, on pouvait rester bloqué dans les couloirs dans le noir total. Notre chambre était minuscule, sale et il y avait un tas de cheveux noirs sur ce qui devait être un polochon. Les fils électriques du téléphone pendaient au mur. On nous a donné une chambre double au lieu d’une chambre avec deux lits et la chambre était très mal équipée. Je n’avais pas l’impression d’être dans un hôtel sûr. C’est pourquoi nous sommes tout se suite parties pour un hôtel de bonne réputation au coin de la rue. J’attends toujours d’être remboursée et j’ai dépensé pas mal d’argent pour ce qui était censé être un court séjour à Paris. Mon avis sur cet hôtel : à éviter à tout prix.

  It was dark with light switches on timers that left you in enclosed corridors in the pitch dark, the room was cramped, dirty with a large clump of long dark hair on what passed for a bolster pillow.

  The electrical phone wires were hanging exposed from the wall, we had been given a double bed rather than a twin room and the lighting in the room was extremely limited. My opinion of this hotel - avoid it at all costs.
