Incredible location, on side vent of active volcano - which supplies hot pools & sulfur mud and sauna in middle of dry coastal forest.
We stayed in an lovely cottage with large room (2 dbl beds) , porch with hammock, cable TV, large bath and, immaculately clean.
The Suite itself was sumptuous but we were disappointed that there was a pull out couch and not 2 beds which was not specified when we booked the room.
The grounds are meticulous and we loved the sauna , mud baths, steam room whirlpools and the pool gorgeous.
We we were in the "Villa" and even though it was the cheapest of the room categories, it was huge with 2 double beds, a small refridgerator, a desk and 2 rocking chairs.
The large bungalows are cute, clean, with a small fridge in the room, excellent air conditioning, TV, and balcony.
There is only one place to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the same menu.
The food at the restaurant has a lot to be desired and the same menu is for lunch and dinner which tires quickly.
Also after paying top dollar I think you should be able to order anything you want for breakfast instead of their 1 selection.
While we were eating for 6 hours out of the day the other guest were complaining just as much saying they would never return.
The food was delicious, with homemade butter, rolls, and ice cream.
Food excellent and staff extremely helpful and accommodating.
The food was so bad and the service even slower.
After travelling on a terrible road, we had a poor welcome by the receptionist.
Our 7 year old couldn´t get enough of the horses, ATV's and the beautiful pool.
The Spa was an incredible experience with the sound of the river below.
Other activities on site, for a cost - spa, massage, horseback riding, zip lines, tours to volcano.
The only time the whole trip I could not use the intrenet (they have dial up for the customers and high speed in their office)?

And we had to beg someone to clean the pool.
Even though there were only 5 other couples at the resort they charged us to upgrade our room with a hammock. The food was so bad and the service even slower. The room was what I would expect for $250+ minus the aunts, no hot water, or spider webs (everywhere) To top it all off we couldn't communicate with anyone.

The only negatives would be that the hot water would start fading after a few minutes, and it is a very hilly property, so people with disabilites would have to rely very heavily on the golf cart drop off service.
