All the hotels in this area are located pretty close to one another, so there isnt much to choose location-wise.

The location is convenient - drug and grocery stores nearby and free wine at 5pm.

The location cannot be beat since you can walk to cannery row and the aquarium without breaking a sweat.

Parking is underground and the ramp is steep.

We arrived early and were allowed to park in the underground parking while we went to the aquarium.

The beds were comfortable as they had a feather bed topper!

Most of the guest rooms aren't 'Victorian' at all, being in a modern building running along Foam Street - reception and the lounge/breakfast room are in the old house.

The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and room decor appropriate.

If you love antiques,big rooms and won't be in your room too much, I recommend the fireplace suite.

Our other room was clean, smelled old, the bed was old as were the bed linens.

Room rate seemed on the high side $189 a night and standard continental breakfast incluing one hot egg dish.

The hotel is within walking distance of Monterey Bay Aquarium, as well as many restaurants and shops.

Even though I did just say the selections were varied enough to keep us eating there for the full week, we do love our breakfasts and would have appreciated just a little more variety.

The "hotel" and 98% of the rooms are built off of the small Victorian style house that serves as the office/front desk and lounge area where the continental breakfast and afternoon wine & cheese are served.

The complimentary continental-style breakfast was very nice and varied enough that we ended up eating there every morning for a week.

The location great for walking to the aquarium, everyone we encountered as staff at the hotel was nice and the front desk manager was very friendly.

Very convenient for walking to shops & restaurants, the place is in a good location and 2) excellent front desk staff - friendly and helpful.

My only negative comment would be that they shouldn't charge for parking in their garage.

Excellent view, peaceful atmosphere and the additional $12 parking fee seemed cheap.

Tickets to the Aquarium can be purchased here for full 1 day price you get a 2 day pass and dont have to wait in line which saves time and you can walk to the aquarium from here so save money parking too.

There were several extra facilities we didn't use - neither of us brought a laptop so we didn't try the free wi-fi; we didn't make use of the VCR and library of movies either.

Negatives: We couldn't get the wireless internet connection to work, and all they could tell us was that it must be our card (despite the fact we had it working fine at another hotel the night before)--they didn't have any bridges.

The room was clean and the fireplace made nice.

The staff was friendly and rooms were big and clean.

Our room was clean, the food itself was basic continental.

They worked very hard at getting our room clean so that we could check in early.

The hotel was very clean, with spacious rooms.
