For the money per night this hotel offers excellent value, service was slow even on a quiet day and not much - room was large.
It is about a 5/7 minute drive to the heart of overpriced downtown Newport, where the hotel prices climb into the hundreds of dollars.
We stayed at some very expensive hotels (not through choice, just availability) that though in better condition with more amentities (which you don't always need but have to pay for in higher rate) that £ for £ this is better value.
Give me a break, so to find a hotel in this price range (I booked at $101) in a major tourist city is acceptable.

I stayed there for the simple convenience of its location close to the /Newport Playhouse, clean and the staff was helpful we needed a taxi, the hotel was comfortable and adequate.
As has a great location just outside of scenic newport and the hotel was very good.
The hotel was very noisy from people, foot traffic in halls, and the main and side roads around the facillity.
Bus passes are available at the Visitor Center and we'll probably buy a few next time.

Comfortable and the hotel was well maintained, the staff was very helpful, each day maid service was prompt to make up the beds.

When we arrived at the reception desk, we knew we had made a biiiiig mistake, the receptionist hardly lifted her head to welcome us, the other one sitting beside her was too busy ordering her meal for her tea break.
Fortunately, there was a poolside entrace that was adjacent to the parking lot and closer to our room than the main lobby entrance.
The pool was small in depht and lenght, murcky, and it was in the parking lot.
The plusses for this hotel are the guest laundry and free internet and plenty of parking.
Free wireless internet was nice, pillows were low-rent as well and the food was delicious.
