The room was always clean, with comfortable chairs and two double beds, while the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We stayed in a renovated double room, had a delicious hot breakfast with bacon and toast, and the staff were attentive and excellent.

The hotel's location is really close to Manhattan, New York City, Newark, and Atlantic City, making it perfect for day trips. The zoo is just around the corner, and there are pizza places and Chinese food nearby. It's also easy to get to a public park. The breakfast offered is above average, and the rooms are comfy and updated.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the place to be fancy and spotless. The location was super convenient, right across from the turtleback zoo 🦁. The staff were all really nice and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious.

The room we had included central heating, television and a writing desk. The service was excellent as we had expected.

Location--I was there attending a funeral service and this hotel was conveniently situated relative to my family's home.

On entering my room (remember, mid August, I arrived in the late afternoon), the room seemed muggy, not quite dank. I am not a regular traveler and user of hotels and I didn't realize until Day 2 that I needed to trigger the air conditioner to change the room's atmosphere. It was a little thing, I know it now and will do it promptly the next time I travel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was one of the best aspects, being directly across from Turtle Back Zoo and in the Orange area of New Jersey. We also appreciated the convenience of having a Pizza Place and Chinese food just around the corner. Additionally, the hotel was close to the South Orange train station, making transportation easy. The cleanliness of the hotel was great, and the renovations seemed to be finished, giving it a fresh and updated feel. The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly the associate at the front desk, Krystal, who was professional and made our experience enjoyable.

The Avenue Hotel in the Orange area of New Jersey is a hidden gem. It offers a prime location right across the street from a cute little zoo that had a Christmas light festival going on during my stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a capsule coffee maker and special desk/workstation. The staff, led by the hands-on manager, Brian Cassara, provides excellent customer service. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and a complimentary breakfast with more than just toast and coffee.

Some guests mentioned that the walls in their room were dented and dirty in places.

The staff were excellent - very helpful with all of our requests and very friendly. The breakfast included hot dishes, such as scrambled eggs and sausage and waffles, a pleasant surprise, plus a large assortment of breads, cereals, fruit, yogurt. It was very good.

The Avenue Hotel is a fantastic family-run hotel with very clean and spotless rooms. The staff is exceptionally nice and the breakfast is above average, with hot and delicious options like toast and bacon. The location in the Orange area of New Jersey is marvelous and convenient.
