The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Dorchester, making it easy to explore the town and find a brasserie for a light luncheon. The room we stayed in was comfortable and well-appointed, with a spacious bathroom and modern decor. The staff provided excellent service and the breakfast had plenty of choices, including cereals, pastries, and fruit. The hotel also had good soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.

Some areas of the hotel looked tired, despite the refurbished decor in other parts.

Stayed in room 209 which faces the main street. Traffic noise until late and early in morning. Also room get too hot from sunlight through bay window.

The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Dorchester, which is an unspoilt town well worth visiting for its Thomas hardy connections, Roman remains and excellent small museum, as well as being an ideal touring base. Our room was well-appointed with a good-sized bathroom and was spotlessly clean; there is also a comfortable lounge overlooking the main street for guests' use.

We checked in in the early evening, and found the Eastern European lady behind the desk somewhat abrupt and more interested in her personal phone call. Day-time staff were more friendly. The hotel is part of the Best Western chain and is clearly geared toward business travellers on expenses, since both breakfast and evening menus are jaw-droppingly expensive for relatively unadventurous dishes - luckily Dorchester has plenty of cafes and pubs where more reasonably-priced food is available. The bar, which our room overlooked, is a live-music venue on Saturday nights.If you prefer to go to bed early, don't expect to sleep before midnight!

Great location, with easy access to shops and restaurants. Free parking is a big plus, as parking can be difficult in the area. The hotel itself is well-maintained and clean.

Some rooms can be noisy due to the busy main road. The hotel could benefit from some maintenance and attention to detail.

Pleasant facilities, good quality fittings, very well placed in the town

Car park difficult to access, access corridors too narrow for larger cars, on Friday night access was impossible despite a few places being vacant - had to park in nearby (free overnight) town carpark. Bar meals only, restaurant apparently not in use.

Very good welcome.We had been upgraded to a superior room - the room was very spacious with a great flat screen tv, excellent tea and coffee making facilities (including a pot!),free internet and a very large comfortable bed. The bathroom had a lovely whirlpool bath and two washbasins. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection and most ingredients locally sourced. Situation is perfect being right in the centre of Dorchester and ample parking is a great bonus. We would definately stay again

Great price for New Year's Eve with good food and drinks included. The location was perfect for exploring the town, close to all the pubs and shops. Our room was clean with a cozy bed and there was free Wi-Fi.

The hotel lacked any real charm and felt like a lodge. The staff were not very friendly, and it was difficult to get any assistance.

The room was comfortable and kitted out with everything anyone could want - including an iron and irining board (one of the most useful items a hotel can provide and sadly lacking from many hotel rooms).

1) The room lighting was too dim for reading in the evening. 2) Order taking for the cooked breakfast was slow even though it was quiet in the breakfast room - staff were standing around but didn't take our hot course order until well after the cereal course then there was a long wait for cooking.

The hotel is smack bang in the middle of Dorchester with easy access to shops etc but with ample onsite parking its ideal for surrounding attractions.

The quality of the room was excellent. We have stayed before so the helpfullness of the staff was no surprise.

Unfortunately our stay coincided with xmas disco party. Fortunately not to late.
