  The only oven in the four floor building (with over 400 student bedrooms) looks as though it has never been cleaned - it is caked in layers of spilt food. There is only one staff member, to my knowledge, that is efficient at her job. All in all, don't stay here if you want a pleasant, friendly or value for money experince.

  I have actually stayed here for a year as a student in the apartments, and it is the most overpriced ($345AUD A WEEK FOR A TINY ROOM) and ghastly accommodation I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. For example, the mini-gym (which was mostly broken and minimal to start with) has been removed, the buisness centre (the only place to print in a so called student accommodation, where work must be done) has gone and the student lounges which are advertised as social have 2 old, smelly couches, a TV and a vending machine (which Unilodge will not take responsibility for) in each and are always empty. The place is awful, the rooms are tiny and the kitchens are constantly dirty.

  We felt this was a great room for the price--$102/night--I was rather nervous that it was so inexpensive as I had heard the rooms in Sydney could go for $300+.

  Got there early in AM and were able to keep our suitcases in a locked room while we hopped on a nearby bus for Sydney Harbor. Had no experience with exercise room or any of the other problem places the student had written about.

  Unilodge is in a great location, right next to Gleb so that was fantastic. The staff though on the other hand were very pleasant and friendly.

  You could hear the bathroom all night and the aircon from above. The rooms are definitely designed for student living. The bathrooms need renovation, old and off colour.

  The room was tiny, bordering an atrium and every noise was just amplified. The door to the bathroom was a louvred swing type. Think Western saloon type crossed with the worst 70's bedroom cupboard style and you'll be getting the idea. The swimming pool and gym are small and a very long walk from reception through the depths of the basement, consequently little used.

  First problem was that room had 2 single beds and when we contacted front desk they advised that hotel was full - offered complimentary car parking ($10) as token gesture.

  Room was not serviced after the first night. When I raised this with the front reception they said that because we did not put out the "PLEASE SERVICE ROOM" sign they don't service because of privacy/security constraints. Checked out after 2 nights and was asked to pay for parking but said that this was free due to room type being single beds. I described the person and car parking was given for free. The hotel is opposite a supermarket complex and there is a microwave in room.

  Nun, dass Hotel ist eigentlich sehr gut, machen Sie sich nur auf lange Spaziergänge in die Innenstadt oder einer längeren Reise mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gefasst. Die Lage ist das einzige Problem.

  Well this hotel was actually good but be prepared for a decent hike to the centre of town or a willingness to spend large amounts on public transport.

  The location is the only problem with this place.

  Unlike previous reviewers we didn't have a problem with the staff and the location was OK (easy busses to the city).

  That isn't a problem in itself but it is a bit gauling to be paying a resonable amount to stay in a student room, albeit serviced every day with coffee / towels etc. The rooms are not well presented adding to the low rent feel of the place.

  We should have heeded the manager tossing the pen and registration form at us as a warning. Arrived at the 4th and a half floor with all of our luggage, opened the rooms and found two single beds and one of the tiniest rooms ever. We called the front desk and they said changing rooms wouldn't be a problem but it was. My wife went down to get the room keys and 45 minutes later I became worried and went down to determine what what causing the delay. I arrived in the lobby to find her in the "business center" trying to find the so-called voucher. She was forced to pay a $20 internet useage fee as the staff and management were unwilling to assist in clearing up the problem. Furthermore, the manager was insiting we leave a credit card number in case they did not recieve payment from the Gold Crown program.

  I know other people who stayed there too and honestly, no one had a good word about the place and all agreed about the staff attitude and expensive price for nothing.

  Seriously, I don't think I have ever encountered such arrogant staff. The place is nothing special at all, no one to help you with the luggage, rooms are tiny (below average) and facing and internal courtyard (barely any natural light. If you ask for any info (I mean ANY) the staff at front desk look at you like you're dumb (e.
