  We were happy to sleep there since there were few rooms available, but I would opt for a newer facility if I had the time to plan.

• The housekeeping staff is excellent. Would definitely recommend if someone is looking for a good value, clean and excellent service.

  As for the location it is just outside of town. If you want to walk around the town, you can't do that from this location, you must drive into town and park.

  Once we checked in and went into our room the first thing we noticed is that the room is very dark. We booked a family size suite and there were lamps, but it was very dark. The bedroom areas were average with decent beds. The bathroom is small for a two bedroom unit. Our room window was not far from the hot tub area outside and we were able to hear people out there real late into the night/morning hours.

  The room was not as clean as I would have liked it to be. The location is inferior to other properties better located within downtown Durango.

  Stayed in one of their suites. Polite, professional front desk staff. Great continental breakfast. Good location to area attractions.

  My wife, daughter and myself stayed at the Best Western Durango Inn & Suites on August 16th 2007. The hotel is convienent to downtown but is still very quiet. We especially enjoyed the big grassy courtyard and the pool. The pool is a nice outdoor pool with lots of area to enjoy the sun (one of the few nice outdoor pools in town). We stayed in a two room suite with a balconey overlooking the courtyard. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

  Although the staff tried to clean the room - it is hard to clean carpets that look 30 years old.

  Staying in the hotel room is like visiting your smelly old aunt - everything is very old and frankly dirty. The bed is so old that is has turned into a water bed.

  Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to switch rooms due to a late booking on my part and the staff moved our bags and Rx in the refrigerator while we were on the train.

  Sometimes, I really get upset with myself for accepting the “Best Western” sign as an assurance of a quality, comfortable, enjoyable accommodation! The rooms were reasonably clean, although small and with a lingering (or permeating) smell of cigarette smoke (despite the fact that it was a non-smoking room). Well, the few employees whom we encountered were friendly.

  The VIEW was a dirty, cigarette-butt-laden parking lot with LOTS of muddy, dirty, over-sized pick up trucks. The entryway to the our room was a stumbling hazard of broken concrete covered with leaves, debris and cigarette butts.
