Best Western Carlton Plaza Hotel Victoria - 維多利亞

Although staying right in the heart of the city can sometimes subject one to the "usual downtown noises," the convenience and central location of the hotel more than compensate.

The Best Western Carlton is in a great location -- walking distance to the sights such as Parliament House, museums, shopping, harbour as well as the bus stop where you catch the bus that will take you to the Victoria-Vancouver ferry.

Great location in the centre of Victoria.

This hotel is easy to get to from the airport, walking distance to tourist attractions and shopping, and on or near major streets to everywhere you might want to go.

Also, if you book a bus tour or a whale watching trip, the tour company will even come and pick you up!

Hotel room was spacious and had two queen beds, along with a queen sofa bed.

Our room was dirty, had an unpleasant odor,stains on the carpet and bedspread, and when we awakened in the morning, found a strange looking, small bug in bed with us.

Nice, large room with newer beds, TV, etc.

The room was totally refurnished and everything was spotless and appeared brand new - furniture, bedding, shower curtain, air conditioner, carpeting etc.

Upon check in, there was a mix up with our reservation, so they upgraded our room to a suite.

We ate breakfast at De Dutch, the reasonably good and reasonably priced in-house restaurant.

There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which is open for breakfast and lunch.

Though the hotel itself does not have a restaurant, it is adjacent to the De Dutch Pannekoek which serves an excellent breakfast with a wide range of options.

I contacted the front desk manager, who kindly gave us breakfast in the overpriced pancake restaurant in the hotel to accomodate us for our delay and the necessary room change.

Eat elsewhere, there are lots of cafes and restaurants just blocks from the hotel.

The staff was amazing,so helpful from the valet to the front desk who pulled up the website for the local movie theatres.

Staff was friendly, informative and with more than one person manning the front desk area our check-in and check-out (as well as storing our luggage) went smoothly.

The location for the coast is not as good for walking to the aterfront but the hotel itself is waterfront and it is a nice walk,they offer a complimentry shuttle to wherever it is you want to go and there is no cahrge for parking.

That's probably why I heard the elevator motor running whenever someone was moving up or down.

We did use valet parking, and our car was always brought around promptly.

The hotel offers complimentary wireless internet and free bottles of water which I thought were a nice touch and added bonus.

Apparently, some floors (I know for sure about the the second floor) are not wired, so make sure to ask upon check-in.

The room was very large and very clean, no stains/odours, etc.

The rooms have been refurbished and are very clean and well kept by the staff.
