    Getting there.

    Brussels South Charleroi Airport:

Traveling by train to Bruges is the best way to see the beautiful Belgian countryside.

For Eurail Pass holders, it is also quite inexpensive.

There are several connections to hub cities that will lead you to Bruges in less than 2 hours.

The price of a round trip ticket is generally double the price of a one way ticket.

The one way trip or the outward trip of a return trip ticket must be made on the date shown on the ticket.

Since schedules can change, tourism offices don't usually keep train schedules.

It is best to check with the station. In general, trains leave every ½ hours from and to all major Belgian cities.

    By car:

Those arriving in Belgium by car should take the highway E40 in direction Gent, take the exit numer 8 and then follow the road N31 and N32 until they reach Bruges.

Location of the hotel and the parrot at the entrance.

Quality of breakfast (small selection and odd eggs), there are very good breakfast places right around the corner. Dietary constraints (no gluten free)

The location was very good, near many restaurants and the Markt Square, yet quiet.

Individual room coffee and tea making would be preferable however as most places I stayed in provided none, having the communal area was an improvement. Computer in communal area needs updating and screen closer to chair. However again at least a computer was provided to those of us who don't have a laptop etc.

The hotel is very well located in relation to the main shopping streets and the town square, as well as the main tourist attractions. The hotel's swimming pool and sauna were appreciated.

      Very convenient for city centre.

Breakfast was included in my price, but I found it disappointing. The scrambled egg was quite clearly made from powdered egg, both in taste and texture.

We were particularly impressed with the young lady at the reception whose first day it was to be alone there (we arrived at around 8.30 P.M. on 10 July). She was friendly, smiling and very helpful. A credit to your hotel.

We were unaware that there was no parking place beside the hotel and would have been happy to note that on the website. Also, since were had to travel back to Denmark, we wanted to leave very early so that breakfast from 07.30 seemed a bit late to us. The lady in the breakfast room, however, did accommodate us so that we could eat breakfast at 7. She too was very helpful and very nice.

The location and the size and comfort of the rooms; and the spa and sauna facility. Staff were very friendy.

The toilet was in a seperate room to the bathroom, which was fine but the toilet floor was a little smelly.

Friendly, helpful & no hassle. We loved our room with the lovely views from our balcony. We didn't need to ask many questions but when we did require information everyone was extremely helpful. Our room was cleaned everyday & Breakfast was fast & efficient.

Nothing that we didn't like. The only suggestion we would like to make is Why don't Best Western have their own Bike Hire as most people we believe would try cycling.

    • Older travelers

Old world style and charm with an exceptional greeting, the hotel is in a brilliant location within the old town and whilst it is difficult to find it is worth the hunt. The rooms are a little on the small side with very little room for 2 suitcases, and there was an unusual smell of onions (?) throughout the hotel which we think was due to mosquito treatment - it was unusually humid when we visited. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable and very quiet.
