Great hotel for the price and well worth the extra money.
San Francisco usually has somewhat higher prices for hotels, so for the money this place is acceptable.
The hotel itself is good value for money.
All in all, we found the hotel good value for money and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small friendly convenient place and doesn't expect luxury.
Just a short walking distance to Union Square, location is excellent and good clean hotel located in a very god part of town.
Perfect location for exploring sf, the hotel is in an old 7-story building in a great neighborhood and very good internet deal on the room.
My boyfriend and I made reservations at the Hotel Beresford because it was affordable ($89 super saver on their web site) and in a location that seemed like it might be close to the tourist sites.
We found the staff friendly and helpful (they even got us a limo at cab prices to go to the airport when we left!
If you want a transfer to the international airport the hotel will organise this for you for $14, bargain!

On arrival we were given a free upgrade to a suite which included kitchen (with honesty drinks in the fridge), dining area, living room area, 2 double beds and jacuzzi bathroom.
Our room on the 5th floor was clean and quiet but pretty small; the queen bed practically filled the room and the bathroom was about the smallest we've seen.

The hotel was so quiet we almost swore we were the only occupants, but we met some other travellers in the morning at the continental breakfast served in the restaurant.

Upon arrival, we were asked to double park in front of the hotel while the valet parking attendant arrived (15-20 minutes).
The parking was $24 a day, which is about average & the only problem is that it is valet, so you do have to find a place to park for the valet(there is only 1 spot in front of the hotel for them.
If parking is an issue, there are several motels on Lombard St.
The rooms are clean and a continental breakfast is included in the rate.
Our room was clean, the restaurant was good value.
The staff is the best and rooms are clean.
So, if you are looking for a cheap, clean place to stay with friendly staff, this place isn't half bad - especially if you don't intend on staying in the room for very long.
Our room was small but spotless and had everything one could have needed.
