Oh yes, and because we were foreigners, we did not have to pay the IVA of 21% (hotel tax).
The location is beautiful, what with it being in a residential area.
Not far from the airport and in a a residential area a good 20 minutes from downtown, the hotel is a change from a typical (sometimes noisy) city location.
Into BA, buquebus to Colonia, bus to Montevideo, taxi to Belmont House which was a most attractive and welcomingd destination after a long travel day and night.
The coast is a few streets away and easily reachable on foot.
Rooms niceand bed great, a few nice restaurants and in the lovely garden.
The painting on the woodwork on the bathroom window was very sloppy and the gasket on the tub was more off than on so the floor got soaked when someone showered.
Beautiful period style rooms, great staff and the suite we were given was very spacious.
Perhaps it is not the most child-friendly hotel, better for the adult traveler who enjoys the bed 'n' breakfast style atmosphere.
The pool area is beautiful, as are the spacious rooms and bathrooms.
Breakfast is hard to review since we had two different breakfasts on two different days.
This is a comfortable rather traditional hotel in a nice neighbourhood whose food both breakfast and dinner is well above average.
THere are many restaurants and shopping plazas down the block.
Has a nice quaint bar with an excellent and friendly bartender.
Buffet breakfast is included and is as good as it can get.
Taxis & Remises were easy to come by (just ask the reception staff), as were suggestions on food and area attractions.
Reception staff is very helpful and speaks English well.
The hotel was quiet, the Belmont House was nice and the service was excellent.
In a lovely suburban area, the Sea was a good one and the staff at the hotel were very accomodating.
Luxury hotel in Montevideo, taxi to Belmont House was a most attractive and the service was very very polite.
The front desk was helpful with maps and their suggestions for dinner at Old Man and the Sea was a good one.
The staff was very attentive to our needs, though most of the wait/housekeeping staff did not speak English.
Service was spotless and the room was comfortable.
The town has quite a bit of interesting shopping, the front desk was helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
