Bear Of Rodborough Classic Hotel Stroud - Stroud

Thw location is very pleasant situated on Rodborough Common and very comfortable hotel[ could there be 2 chairs in a standard room.

The location of the hotel is great for Bristol, Cheltenham, Cotswold's and Gloucester and there are many decent restaurants nearby if you want a change.

Great location, lots of good walks locally and Chichester just down the road was nice to visit for a little light shopping.

9/10 for location, 8/10 for food and 8/10 for bedrooms.

We stayed in room 26 - the huge four poster bed standing strong (even with the 'testing' my g/f and I gave it).

The staff were very pleasant, with a very helpful and friendly chap on the reception desk and we were directed to our lovely room on the 1st floor (a lovely black and white themed room with a very comfy half tester bed).

We booked a superior room which included a huge bed.

The room was so small, when you opened the door it hit the bed!

The bed was comfortable and the food was also excellent.

The bar and restaurant are of a very good standard and the breakfasts good.

Great breakfast, the food very good in the bar for dinner.

It had a lot of character, with log fires in the cosy 'Grizzly' bar, a separate oak panelled lounge and a pleasant, well appointed restaurant.

There is a bar, restaurant and conference facilities.

Breakfast the next morning (which is taken in the Boxtree Restaurant) was very pleasant too with fresh produce - once we had gotten over the slightly frosty welcome of the German(?

The staff were all excellent, although we have to say, that the bar service was a little slow, and the price of drinks (especially the wine) are far too expensive.

We found the staff couldn't do more for us and certainly provided a higher standard of service that we have yet to find in many other 5 star hotels.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Natasha the receptionist.

The restaurant was faultless with polite service from experienced staff and excellent food at each sitting.

The only complaint I would have was the staff although they were friendly enough they didnt seem very well trained especially in the reception and restaurant.

Special mention due for the General Manager, Donna (restauant manager) and Natasha (receptionist).

Our room was fine, clean and spacious but my mum stayed in a room which was tiny and claustrophobic.

The rooms are very clean, comfortable and suitable for any use business, romance or relaxing.
