Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters Washington - 华盛顿哥伦比亚

The hotel itself is very nicely done and the location was great - close to the Metro and restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet.

The location was good, helpful from the minute we checked in and nearby offered excellent restaurants.

DC taxi rules (also none of the DC cabs seemed to have meters, they use a little laminated rate chart to calculate the total cost.

The hotel is close (less than 1 mile) to 2 metro stations: Farragut North (Red line) and McPhereson Sq (Orange and Blue lines).

We had what they call a studio which was in essence a suite with an apartment sized refridgerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave, small stove, separate seating and bedroom areas and a good sized bath.

The separate bedroom also had a flat screen tv and long windows which wrapped around the room, and a very comfy king bed.

The walls are thin so next door neighbour had a crying child and the room next door had occupants that couldn't get to bed till past 2am and had blaring tv so it was a bit tough to sleep but the room, bathroom and everything was nice.

We had a 1-bedroom suite with a sitting area (with writing desk, 2nd TV, sofa-bed).

We had asked for a deluxe king bed room and, after waiting for maybe 20 minutes, they instead gave us a "junior room," which had two double beds, two televisions (one was very new), a kitchenette, a sofa, a small table, and many arm chairs.

The restaurant Beacon Bar and Grill we have eaten breakfast and dinner before and again on this trip and was very good.

The hotel didn't offer room service per se (maybe just breakfast room service), but there was a restaurant in the hotel and quite a few restaurants within blocks of the hotel.

I did eat one breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and was pleasantly surprised to find that my coffee and juice (which I thought were extra) were actually included in the meal price.

The restaurant and bar were fine -- closed too early, however -- very nice al fresco dining -- lots of shrubs to block out the street noise, give you privacy etc.

Didn't eat in the restaurant, but watched some baseball in the bar.

I expect that anyone not needing concierge services, or those who are extriemly demanding of hotel staff, will find that they have a 4 or even 5 star stay at this hotel.

They made up for the front desk staff which was usually absent or overly busy and, all in all, pretty curt and unhelpful.

Everytime we saw a staf member, in the lift or in the lobby, we were greated by sincere smiles and excellent service.

As a single female traveler, I also appreciated the security features; in order to get off the elevator at any floor other than the lobby, you had to swipe your room card.

I also used the fitness room; small, but three machines each have their own TV monitor, and you can also get a free pass to the YMCA just across the street if you want more equipment (or a pool).

Both of these locations provided wireless internet (albeit, for a fee), but beggars can't be choosers, right?

Costs ~$11/day to access a wired connection.

The bathroom was nice the shower area good have been bigger, clean -- the decor was funky and staff were very courteous and knowledgeable.

Room was very clean, bar was excellent and i believe the sheets were used by another costumer.

Although the rooms were perfectly clean, they were also perfectly ordinary.

The staff were very friendly, the room was not so clean.

Though I've stayed at nicer hotels with this kind of room/kitchenette setup, the Beacon Hotel was a comfortable, clean, convenient and affordable choice.
