Lovely little hotel and the price is a bit too high for accomadation.
Location is perfect and the prices are certainly at the high end of the scale for Zurich's hotels.

I am willing to spend a lot of money on a hotel, but I expect a lot in return when I do.
This was my first trip to Zurich and I found the location of the hotel to be perfectly situated.
If you want a great location, superb Swiss hospitality and exquisite, albeit traditional, decor, stay at Baur au Lac.
The hotel has a great location, about 15 minutes walk from the main station and about 2 minutes from the lake.
And for the price of a normal limo airport transfer, they'll drive you in a sparkling black Rolls-Royce.
Everything, from the greeting on arrival till the drive back to the airport, was superb.
The room had everything you needed, from a wonderful balcony to a huge bed, and lets not forget the heated bathroom floors.
The room was pleasant and smelled clean; and the bathroom was truly lovely with white marble and a fantastic shower and separate tub.
The all-marble bathroom had double sinks, a separate WC, a splendid deep tub and a panoramic window.
Very comfortable bedroom & bathroom and free min bar.
Our travel agent forgot to advise the hotel that we wanted a room with balcony overlooking the canal - the best rooms of all in this beautiful hotel!
Breakfast is wonderful but the restaurants suffer from the 'hotel mentality' at the other meal periods.
The restaurants are excellent, since the hotel has both a formal restaurant (outdoors in summer) and an infomal restaurant.
The rooms were magnificent as was the whole hotel, I highly reccomend the 'Rive Gauche' restaurant as the food was impecable and the service very efficient.
Our lunch at the Pavillion restaurant was so terrific, we came back for seconds at dinner time (undoubtedly missing out on lots of other wonderful alternatives).
The room was large and the food in the restaurants was very good.
The concierge staff, certainly among the best in Zurich, is able to juggle and expertly handle any request you might have.
Moreover the staff friendly and concierge desk helpful.
The views are simply fabulous, the hotel is perfect and the concierge staff is very polite.
The view from the well equipped fitness room was extraordinary, the other hotel staff were genuinely pleasant to a person and the service was extremely polite.
The lounge, off the lobby, is a great spot for afternoon tea or drinks before or after dinner.
The hotel was beautifully decorated with a huge tree just off the lobby in the lounge.
All glass, with wrought iron details, ingeniously renovated and restored while still keeping the original plasterwork and staircase around the elevator cage.
The building itself is nice and elegant, the staff is polite, the rooms are extremely clean.
The Baur au Lac is a wonderful place to stay in downtown Zurich, room is very clean and spacious.
