Bastide du Calalou is a lovely hotel with views over the countryside, and is in a peaceful location.

The location is good for a peaceful getaway and the Gorge de Verdon is close by, the towns of Aix-en-Provence and San Tropez were an easy day out.

Very quiet location high in the Var region.

Wonderful location and fantastic setting.

Bastide is located at the foot of a medieval village and is a short drive from the market town of Aups.

Comfortable room, the food simply superb.

Everything about this hotel was excellent, the staff were very attentive, the rooms were beautiful, the restaurant superb.

We saw the Bastide de Calalou from the road and decided to take a chance on a room.

The rooms are perhaps fairly small but well equipped with nice decor (especially the 'romantic' rooms).

The dining room and terrace have an excellent view of the plain below.

Breakfasts were high quality and the evening meal we had was excellent.

There's even Bucks Fizz on the breakfast counter.

The restaurant is excellent, with good-value menus.

The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the restaurant food and service are both excellent.

The manager and staff could not be more polite and hospitable.

Location was very convenient for day touring, the staff were friendly.

The staff is very friendly and professional.

There's a lovely pool and nice grounds to stroll in.

Very quiet and relaxing, beautiful decor, elegant grounds and a terrific pool.

Quite characterful and family-run; reasonably small but with good facilities, including a pool.

    The location was excellent and the country setting was great. Also staff were kind, room was spacious.

    Pricing policy - we booked at the rack rate for the time of year was just a few days outside the low season and the mini-bar lock was broken so we couldn't access.
