Barcelo Margaritas Playa del Ingles - Playa del Ingles

Located just a ten minute walk from the Yumbo centre and a ten minute drive from the beach - the location was almost perfect.

The location is perfect,close to shopping malls,restaurants everything!

The pools are both great, always found sunbeds, drinks were self-service, excellent location for shops and bars, bus service to lovely beach (beware of nude old german people), loads of shows and games etc day and night.

As has been mentioned there is a free bus service and a taxi will cost you around €3.

Theres also a free bus into Playa del ingles and Maspolomas,well worth it if you haven't hired a car,although taxi fare is reasonable too.

We had requested a double bed and a quiet room, unfortunately as in most European countries, they don't have double beds.

Go for this option if you can as you get a seperate room with a double bed and some also have a kitchen.

Rooms - We were very disapointed with room itself - very dated, single beds (very uncomfortable) pushed together (requested a double room), everything in the room falling apart basically.

House keeping good, rooms clean, beds made, towels changed daily- extra bedding promptly delivered on request.

There is a room to put your luggage when your kicked out your room at 12:00 noon,and if you ask you can get a slot in room to have a shower,it's half an hour per room,as we had two rooms we had 1 hour,and you get clean towels too.

The restaurant /snack bar staff were very kind and my son loved practising his "spanish" on them.

Food is fab with lots of choice breakfast lunch and dinner!

The food served at the bar and poolside was the usual burgers, chips etc it was really good for convienient quick eating and not too expensive.

We all had different tates and there was not one breakfast or evening meal where nobody could find anything to eat.

We stopped Half Board and the food was terrible for a 4* hotel - we ate out for 3 nights & breakfasts out of the 7 days we were there.

The maids would always say hello when you walked past them (shame they didnt pay as much attention to their cleaning), the restaurant staff were a bit mixed, and reception just didn't seem to care either way!

In its favour, the staff at reception were excellent, the cleaning of the rooms first class and its actually cheaper to have a drink in the hotel than in some parts of the resort.

There were 5 lifts in all which was plenty to go around, we were never kept waiting long for the next lift.

The 2 lifts serving the restaurant were out of order for the entire stay so, having waited 5 minutes for the lift, I was annoyed to find the room was not made up.

The pool are is very pleasant, there is also a sun terrace upstairs which catches the sun better than the main pool.

The hotel is large, very clean and the rooms were a good size.

Conclusions: a very good hotel for a family, cool and the staff very polite, the apartment was lovely and clean.

The pool areas are kept clean to high standards, the hotel rooms to be fair are good and the staff are very friendly.

The food in the hotel is probably best described a basic and the apartments are very clean and spacious.
