Bank City Centre Hotel Edinburgh - 爱丁堡

This hotel is in an ideal location, however, it is located above a pub which we knew but has many other issues.

I chose The Bank primarily due to its location (close to the Edingurgh training centre) and its availability.

The only thing good I could say is that is does have a good location on the Royal Mile but there were many other hotels very nearby to choose from.

It's walking distance from Princes Street, Waverley Station and the airport bus stop.

It’s literally on the Royal Mile, only a couple of minutes by foot to Princes Street, a 15-minute walk to Edinburgh Castle and maybe 20 to Holyrood House.

Room 9 was very spacious; it had a king bed and two extra twin beds.

One room does not have en suite facilities despite the hotel saying so, the rooms are tired and despite the themes could do withg a coat of pint and a few updated furnishings and a brighter drop of paint would not go a miss!

I don't think we'd stay here again because of the noise and the poor breakfast service but to give a bit of fair play, the bedroom and bathroom of the room that we stayed in were very nice.

The hotel is central to everything, it has themed rooms and ours was brilliant, double room and a massive bathroom.

The bed was huge and comfy and the room was expertly tidied each morning.

We did not eat in the bar as traditional pub food but so many restaurants to choose from.

The bar downstairs (also the reception desk) is well-stocked and serves good food, including a breakfast that was comped with the room.

We had a great breakfast there, provided by a very friendly and helpful staff and cherish some great memories in the bar, which we also found to provide some very nice bar meals.

The complementary breakfast in the hotel bar was very nice.

Breakfast is served in a balcony over the bar and this works quite well.

At all times, the staff were very kind to us, though I'd wager any special requests would have been difficult as if delivering service beyond the standard treatment would have been an arduous task.

The bar staff (who double up as reception, meaning a five minute wait while they served drinks) told me that sometimes the Central website through which rooms are booked doesnt always update itself, and overbooking happens regularly.

The staff is wonderfull and helpful and knows everything about the city.

Like most establishments in Edinburgh, the staff were extremely down to earth, friendly and helpful.

And no one has mentioned that elevators in buildings like this tend to be noisy, so the lack of noise could be considered a bonus (REALLY stretching there!

I knoew about the lack of lift and the stairs but there are many of them, and quite steep.

I was definitely whining every time I found myself on those stairs, lamenting the fact that there was no elevator.

Stayed in Thomas Telford room, thoroughly enjoyed the clean, different, spacious experience.

They are a good size and certainly the room we stopped in was clean and had all of the usual things you'd expect to find in any decent hotel.

The themed rooms are very comfortable and very clean.

We were switched to another room, purportedly clean, but later--when we were too tired to complain--we found the bedspread was spotted with crusts of dried food.
