I arrived in Hokitika on a gloomy day, but my stay at Awatuna was a hidden gem. The host, Paul, welcomed me warmly and surprised me with bottles of sparkling wine. Since the weather was unfavorable, he kindly offered us an aperitif so we didn't have to venture out. The breakfast was outstanding, with a fantastic array of homemade, delicious food. Despite the rain, I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the garden. I highly recommend this homestay.

We had a great time at this cozy B&B! The hosts were super friendly and made us feel at home. They even welcomed us with a bottle of sparkling wine, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious and had a fantastic variety of homemade dishes. Plus, the room we stayed in was comfortable and clean, with a beautiful view of the gardens. It was also conveniently located, not too far from Hokitika town.
The weather was not on our side during our stay, so we couldn't fully enjoy the lovely garden. Additionally, the location is a bit remote, requiring a drive to reach Hokitika.
