Hotel Aurora Alice Springs - 艾丽丝泉

I liked the proximity to town and excellent location.

The Aurora would be a fairly average hotel but for it's location right in the centre of the town with an exit directly onto the Todd Mall.

In a very convenient location, a good hotel to use as a base for trips to Uluru.

The direct access onto the safer, well-lit, busy Todd Mall is invaluable to those not wanting to drive/taxi back to their hotel every night.

The position was quiet and after a less satisfactory stay in the Alice Springs Airport Motel this was a relief.

My room was fine, if a bit cozy with a double bed and a single.

A warning about some room layouts--some rooms in the back section of the hotel are entered through a sliding glass door that opens onto the motel-style walkway, with no other windows.

My room was quite dark, only daylight came through the sliding door, but I did notice that there were rooms with more windows that looked a lot nicer.

Moreover friendly cheerful staff, comfortable bed and dessert as the main meals a huge.

The rooms were small but comfortable with a fridge, kettle and small bathroom.

The food in the Red Ochre Restaurant was revolting, especially the breakfast, bowls for cereal still had food stuck to them!

We ate dinner there one night and also had the breakfast buffet one morning (continental cost AUD 11, cooked breakfast cost AUD 16).

20x series rooms are around a large open area, the hotel's restaurant The Red Ochre is good for dining.

The best restaurant we found was called the Lane - delicious modern Australian fare (a welcome relief after too much fried food at the Ayers Rock Resort).

We were also offered 2 for 1 meals in the Red Ochre restaurant as a little "apology".

Moreover pool area was nice enough for this style of accommodation, hoetel reception staff were great and rooms were a good size.

It also had under cover car parking useful to keep the car cool.

Lifts (sorry) one lift in basement car park, very dim and intimidating at night time.

The pool was a bit small and unbelievably cold - I'm really not sure how they got it that cold - the tap water was warmer!

Very friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms, very clean.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and the room was clean.

Good sized, clean rooms with all the usual amenities.

Reception was friendly, rooms were clean and food at the Red Orche Resturant was fine as well.

The room was spotless, the attached restaurant was an unexpected bonus and the Spa was great.
