Aston Maui Lu Kihei - 基黑

Hands down, the Aston Lu has the best location in Maui, it is centrally located to all of the other towns(15 minutes from Lahaina, Paia, Wailea, Makena) and tons of restaurants.

Plus, the location (across the road from the beach in beautiful laid-back Kihei) is perfect and offers so much, including proximity to shops, groceries, restaurants and activities.

You definitely need a car at this place, as there is nothing within walking distance, but otherwise the location is close to Kihei, yet quiet.

It is close to the airport and so many attractions.

A taxi into town costs $5 each way and there isn't public transport to speak of.

Our room had 2 double beds, when we requested and paid in full for a King bed.

If you want a dirt cheap room on Maui and you don't care about being close to anything and don't need a room with much more than a bed and a bathroom that feels like it's outdoors, then this is the place for you.

Yes, it is an old hotel, but our room was clean, and our bed was very comfortable.

They kept the room clean the entire time we were there, even noting our preferance of not sleeping on one of the blankets by folding it on the bed rather than making it with the bed.

We found no problems with the bed or anything else in the room.

I LOVED that there wasn't an onsite restaurant or bar, that way I didn't feel like I was constantly being marketed to.

Some of the guests thought there was restaurant and bar on the property, but the internet sites are pretty clear there are none within walking distance, so that's the reason for the two star rating.

The resort seemed like a ghost town, with no restaurant and no bar, and strange, shack-like, run-down houses situated on the resort property (albeit, behind the main buildings).

How they can call themselves a resport I don't know, they have a drinks vending machine and thats it, no snack, no restaurant, no bar.

The hotel advertised a restaurant and bar.

The service is very good and the staff is very helpful Mahalo.

The service staff was not too bad, our oceanfront room was great.

The service staff was not too bad but we were treated very poorly by the corporate staff when we called to complain.

This is a low budget hotel so what you can expect is friendly service (alot of Aloha spirit) a clean room where everything works and as much assistance as the staff can possibly provide.

Housekeeping was sent and we waited in the lobby.

The garden view and other type rooms are across the street and I would NOT recommend staying there,, the pool is there too.

The only problem is limited parking since this part of the hotel is across the street.

The rooms were clean, and the staff was very nice and every request we asked was granted without hesitation.

The room was clean, the coffee pot was never cleaned out.

Aston Maui Lu Resort was a very nice hotel, the staff was truly the best and the room was kept very clean.

The hotel has a clean pool, friendly service and really large room on Maui.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
