Hip new hotel in a local area near to a great beach and the railway station and centre of Greymouth. Pleasant and exceptional staff, at reception desk. Covered pool, parking on-site. Tv in the reception. Great to have an in-house restaurant for meals and a swimming pool.

Friendly check-in, good facilities in room, clean restaurant, great food and wine, good parking.
Couldn't find any faults at all.

The spa was lovely, and our room was comfortable (once we worked out how to use the heater).
The restaurant was not good value for money - the food was okay but not amazing, and therefore not worth the price they charged. The shower position leaked water all over the floor.

The value for money at this hotel is excellent. With reasonable prices and attention to detail, it's hard to find a better option in this area. The location on the outskirts of town offers great views of the beach and easy access to a nearby cycle path. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service, making you feel right at home.
All aspects of this hotel were satisfactory.

I liked the dining experience and the spa the room was cozy and as it was just on the edge of town it was nice and quiet. Not far to walk down to the beach
Our room could have done with a bath. The spa could be better maintained. The pool SHOULD be heated.

From the outside it is unassuming, but once inside, the lobby area is nicely decorated. The dining area is equally pleasant, with a good ambience. The food was excellent, as was the service, and the staff are very polite and helpful. It does not have a "chain" feel to it.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with good amenities and a well-equipped kitchenette. The hotel was conveniently located near the town center, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed.
The decor in some areas of the hotel was a bit dated and could do with an update. there were a few maintenance issues in our room, such as a faulty toilet light and fuzzy TV channels.

2 bedroom family room was very comfortable, and was nice to have a kitchen and living room. This is like an upscale business hotel, and had nice furnishings. There was an indoor pool.
The prices for food seemed expensive. Opted to go into town and get food.

The immediate impression of a smart, well appointed, welcoming entrance and lobby Staff were professional, attentive and delivered a genuine Kiwi friendliness The bed were very comfortable, uncommonly so with linen that did not feel motel budget. Our room was perfectly clean and with a recent tasteful l refurbishment. Great shower. The bar and dining ares, were again tasteful.and lovely spaces offering intimacy and visual interest. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast, offering choice, abundance and attentive service. We are well traveled and consider ourselves discerning. Our stay was a pleasure and I recommend the Ashley Hotel highly to any prospective guest. J R Hamilton

Luxury hotel, new-fashioned rooms, lovely view of the ocean. Efficient check-in, parking on-site. With tv in the reception. What a great and handy location in the pleasant restaurant! Close to a supermarket, the best restaurants in New Zealand and the rail station where the food was reasonable.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts and the friendliness of the staff. The cleanliness of the room was very good.
When booking, contact the hotel for which room you will be allocated as there are 4 which face the railway and state highway! A bit noisy in the day but was fine at night. There is also insufficient parking outside your room (hotel is more of a motel setup) so opt for the on-street parking across from the main hotel building.
