This Irish castle dates back to the 13th century and has beautiful gardens and a school of falconry. It's the former estate of the Guinness family and was made a hotel in 1939. The staff bends over backwards for guests and the pub is splendid.

The Ashford Castle Hotel is conveniently located in the scenic and vivid area on the northern shores of Lough Corrib, close to the medieval city of Galway on the west coast of Ireland.
