  Free wired and wireless internet is nice, housekeeping was fine. The hotel is right on a lake with a private beach, pools, a small but full-servivce marina with water-sport rentals, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, two restaurants, a golf course, a (nice! Admission is apparently included in some room rates but not others, so check. The food was fairly good, not memorable, but competent. It's not that they didn't care, they simply didn't have the professional management backing the inexperienced servers.

  The Arrowwood seems to want to be 5-star, but comes up a little short in service. Rooms are very spacious, quality of the rooms is between that of a family hotel and a business hotel. The hotel also feautures its own indoor water-park. It has many water-play areas, 3 tube slides, a small "lazy river" for tubing, and a few other attractions. Perhaps because it was the summer, the hotel hires alot of local high-school and college kids and while they mean well, they simply haven't been trained in high-end hotel service.

• The service at the Lake Cafe was very good. The service people everywhere were very nice. We had breakfast and lunch there and the food was good and very reasonably priced.

  While the number of warm and cold weather activities seem plentiful, the rooms could use a facelift--especially the bathrooms. The restaurant was ok for breakfast (the service was good), but I doubt I would have stayed for dinner. The bar upstairs was good for mingling and drinking $5 pitchers, which helped us pass the time quite nicely.

  The room was reasonably clean, but the bathrooms and the linens seemed worn and in need of replacement.

  The lobby is very small for such a large place. Our room faced the lake and was very clean. The room was however so warm that we had to keep the deck door open all the time just to let in any cooler air. We were told we had a 30 minute wait on a Friday night but it turned into 90 because of the last minute change of a reservation for 6 into 19.

• The water park is very fun and clean.

  We got a standard room which was a bit small. The water park was basically deserted the first night we were there. The water park is nice but could be more exciting. The hotel room had a fridge and we brought our own food. The rooms were clean but with a family of 6 we never have enough towels no matter where we go.

  We were in a spacious King bed room that had a small kitchenette, sofa area and dining/work table. We found the furniture to be really luxurious with beautiful woods and granite tops. The bed was an ornate sleigh bed and the linens and mattress were very comfortable.

  I alerted the front desk clerk of the change when we arrived and she said that there was a strict 72 hour cancellation policy and we would be charged for the extra night. My husband ended up speaking with the manager later and she did decide not to charge us in the end.

• The room was clean, but the decor could use an update. It would have been nice if the pool tempature was warmer.

  The restaurant had a pretty good menu for dinner, but we wouldn't recommend the Sunday brunch.

  The indoor water park was fun, but the air temp was a little chilly.

  The overall appearance of the Hotel was nice, unless you had to deal with the staff. I then went to the room and found it had not been cleaned yet, and the house keeping staff was very accomindating and said our room would be next. I went back to the desk and the same gentleman said I went to the wrong room. The pool area was enjoyable and the water park staff were very nice.

  When checking in it seemed like a chore to the desk staff. That same night we spent a lot of time in the lounge and the staff once again made it seem like such a chore to serve it's customers, this was even after we dropped a 22% tip on our $200 tab.
