  The double room was fine for size but the twin room was very tight and cramped. The day receptionist team were okay not particularly helpful or pleasant. The night receptionist/porter was extremely helpful and friendly.

  It had all the standard equipment required inc dishwasher (by the way you have to purchase additional tablets for this from reception after you use your first one costing 50p each which I feel was ridiculous). The single beds were terrible and were like sleeping on a boat as they rocked.

  We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious, clean and well-equipped apartment. We had spent the previous two nights in a very cramped hotel in London - and here we were, a mere 30 minute drive away from London, in a large and inviting apartment - costing us less than the cramped hotel room. The staff are wonderful at Oxford apartments, they are friendly and helpful. Oxford apartments are very well situated, everything worth seeing is within walking distance (longest walk we did was 50 minutes long). The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, tea kettle, microwave, washing machine and dryer, etc. We also found a bus that runs between Oxford and London all day long.

  Although I was expecting to love this hotel based on prior reviews, I have to say that I found it just adequate--particularly for the price paid. However, my suspicion is that it is hard to find ideal accommodations in Oxford, so this is probably a reasonable bet. Good features: Within walking distance of both the train and bus stations, conveniently located close to town and Oxford Castle (where there are some good restaurants), well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer in kitchen (most helpful given that we had been traveling for over a week prior to our arrival there). Not so great features: We were given a room that had not been cleaned and then were told that it was our fault given that we arrived 6 minutes early (at 2:24 rather than 2:30).

  They also designate a parking place, which would have been convenient had we had a car. However, we were given the key to the room. The room was also on the 4th floor and there was no elevator and lugging up our suitcases was a challenge.

  We were delighted with our stay, having booked three two-bedroom apartments to accommodate twelve of us on a weekend away. They are in a fabulous location, minutes from some trendy bars and set right in the heart of Oxford. Our apartments were next door to each other and the staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest disppointment of the stay was that they only provide one parking space per apartment, which meant we really battled to find spaces in Oxford for the other cars. However the rooms more than made up for that, they were spacious, clean and well equipped.

  Plus there was no hot water on Saturday night, which was not ideal.

  Apartments have a very distinct advantage in that you don't have the feeling of being stuck in a bedroom the whole time, particularly in the middle of winter when the nights are long. We chose a two bedroom apartment for 4 adults and our 4 month old son and it had everything we could have needed, spacious living room, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartments are only a short walk from the city centre so all in all we felt it was a great choice.

  There is internet access in the apartment as well, although I would advise readers not to part with £5 for the luxury as it was incredibly slow and ultimately frustrating.

  This is a gorgeous, spacious place to stay, especially if you don't mind the efficiency-apartment aspect meaning that you have to bring your own groceries and toiletries. For these needs, there is a Sainsbury's and a Marks & Spencer's less than 10min walk from the apartments (and it's a really nice walk). Before I discuss all the good stuff (like the rooms, the staff, location, etc. When you reserve your room, you make a first-night deposit and you should receive a document listing terms and conditions. They send this document with confirmation of the reservation. We never saw this before arriving and, after reading it carefully, I still don't understand the staff interpretation of the document.

  We booked this apartment for a weekend birthday treat, based on good reviews. We switched them off and opened the windows and there was a great deal of dust around from the building site which was not good being as I suffer from dust allergies.

  However, we were assigned an apartment at the back of the complex where there is a lot of building work going on. It was extremely hot that weekend, unusually so, but on entering the apartment, the heaters were still on! The view out of the bedroom window was of scaffolding, with very little space between our window and the builders ledge which I found quite unnerving. Bedroom felt cramped and my fiance hurt his leg on a piece of plastic sticking out at the side of the bath, so all in all, we were somewhat unimpressed! Shame, as the apartments facing onto the other areas looked better situated, but it spoilt our weekend.

  I chose this apartment after being given the daunting task of finding my parents a place when they came to visit for holiday. I visited hotels all around Oxford, but knew that they would feel cramped for an entire week in a hotel room. I chose the apartment for the friendly staff, cleanliness, great kitchen, and ample space in addition to traditional hotel ammenities.

• We arrived exhausted and the friendly staff scooped up our luggage, and we immediately felt at home. A grocery store is close by--we popped a cornish pastry in the oven and had a delightful meal for just a few dollars. The apartment was very roomy, spotless, and absolutely beautiful. Having a computer in each apartment is wonderful!

  I booked two nights in the Oxford Apartments and agree with other reviews - they are in a great location and make a change to a hotel room, but they certainly aren't luxury. We were in a ground floor flat with lounge windows that opened out into the street - this meant the flat smelt a bit damp - I don't suppose anyone opens the windows to air the flat due to pedestrians walking right outside them. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there's parking, but don't expect 5* luxury, just basic, functional apartments that are in a great location allowing you to explore beautiful Oxford.

  We stayed in the Maltilda apartments, so can't comment on the others, but found them cheaply furnished and decorated, with a smaller than average double bed, a tiny TV in the lounge and REALLY loud extractor fans in both bathrooms!
