Its location was perfect, just a short walk from the harbor and in the middle of downtown. I loved that it was pet-friendly, allowing me to bring my beloved dog along. The cleanliness of the room was also impressive.
There was no air conditioning in the room, which would have been appreciated during the hot weather. The breakfast options were a bit limited, although they did offer a decent selection of food.

The hotel was easy to find and central. Free parking was available in a nearby private car park with separate spaces for the hotel. The Sekelgarden hotel was a beautiful old building with plenty of character and was next door to the old Brewery, now a restaurant, with very good food.

The value for the money was great, with a comfortable room and a charming old house atmosphere. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the harbour and downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
The hotel breakfast menu could have been improved with a larger and less crowded breakfast room.

Nothing could have been better.

Attractive appearance in a lovely part of town - our bedroom was spacious, sunny, comfortable and nicely decorated and had two large windows overlooking a pretty enclosed garden. Public rooms and bedrooms alike were furnished with reproductions of paintings from all eras.
Storage space was pitifully lacking – the clothes rack was barely a foot wide (for a double room) and there was no chest of drawers

Good location near the centre of Ystad old town. Lots of character and charm. Good sized bathroom. Good selection of breakfast foods.
It would not be good for anyone with mobility problems.

We loved the beautiful rooms and charming historic building. The genius programme upgrade was a bonus. The location was perfect, with easy access to attractions and a grocery store. The breakfast selection was great and we appreciated the added convenience of a fridge in our room. The host was friendly and accommodating, providing us with a kettle upon request. We were also impressed with the option to rent bikes and the proximity to the port and train station.
Felt extremely safe, nothing was too much trouble.

I liked the central position only.
All in all it was very disappointing after the glowing reviews. The room was at the top of a steep winding staircase making it a struggle to carry up your suitcase etc. It was rather seedy and smelled fusty. The fire exit was a rickety metal ladder attached to the roof outside our window. I prayed we would not have to use it. Despite being old and quaint in its own particular way, it was crying out for renovation, a lick of paint and a good clean. The price of the room was extortionate considering what we got. A real rip off.

The charming old house and cute inner garden create a nostalgic ambiance. The hotel's central location is perfect, being very close to the central square and right in the center of this city in Sweden. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable.
Nothing for me.

the pleasant garden, quirky decor in public rooms
Badly laid out and rather poky ground floor room with no climate control and as windows open on to road it is insecure for belongings when unoccupied. As a result room gets very hot and stuffy. Also night noise from revellers as pub is next door...
