The location in the centre of grantham is fantastic and access to the shopping area is ideal so an ideal wedding/weekend break hotel.
Central location and better breakfast than most hotels of a similar standard.

We liked the location and the car park at the rear is well signed.
Great location, good quality and historical building that retains its heritage well.
We had the lowest rated "Dukes" room, but it was brilliant - 2 rooms in one, with a separate shower and bathroom and a settee from which to watch one of the 2 - yes, 2 tellies, both withdvd player.
Our room was out of this world, 4 poster bed, the decor was beautiful, good size and all the added little extras.
Although booked into a single room, I was given a double room with a four-poster bed.
And what a room we had, a four poster bed, 32" widescreen T.
Had a lovely room with a separate sitting room area (TV/DVD in both), with the bathroom off the sitting room.
Breakfast in the morning was chioce of cerals fruit, fruit juice Cooked breakfasts from full english to smoked kippers were freshly cooked and grilled so no fat.
A lovely period building (reputedly the oldest pub in England), it has a bar, restaurant at weekends and a bistro during the week.
The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and tried their best but seemed short staffed and struggled to keep up with all the people that were coming in.
Ate in the bistro - lovely food - and had a drink in the sparate bar, which has a lovely inglenook with roaring fire.
We ate twice in the main restaurant and the food was superb.
We arrived at reception only to find that we had to stand there while the receptionist and another member of staff stood talking.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, service was excellent.
A nice hotel, superb service and staff changed our room after original room was inhabitable due to uncontrollable heating.
Also not bad rating/reviews on here, helpful staff and a friendly receptionist.
A great choice of items on the menu, good car parking facilities.
The historic hotel is well located in the centre of Grantham and has ample free parking.
Modern shop fronts spoiling the architecture and the parking facilities at the hotel were excellent.
