All in all this was a great stay at a modern hotel, in a good location and cheap in comparison to what we have paid in the past for a lesser hotel - we would definitely stay here again!

Most of the reviews for Angela's Suites on here have bemoaned the fact that the hotel badges itself as a five star location, but the reality has fallen short of the mark.

Angela's is in a good, quiet location - a five minute walk from the centre of the resort.

Approximately 25-30 minutes form the main airport via taxi (taxi fares one way vary from 40-55 Euros, it is usually better to book a transfer either via the hotel or travel agent before departure from the UK to avoid the unnecessary higher costs).

Taxis are also cheap and we had nights out in Malia and Hersonissos but none of them compared to the relaxing atmosphere and charm of Sissi.

The double bed had two pillows without the option of any additional within the room and there was also no shower curtain or guard in the bathroom so the floor was consistently sodden.

The main living / kitchen area was huge, the bedroom large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean.

Room cleaning was a little erratic - sometimes we received fresh towels and a change of bed linen every day, sometimes we'd go a day or two without the cleaner paying a visit.

The cleaning in the rooms was a bit hit and miss - we had fresh towels and sheets the day before we left (somewhat pointless) and the bathrooms are wet rooms that end up being awash with water.

Angela Suites is a nice, stylish new hotel with clean and well-decorated rooms that should make anyone feel well.

There was a good selection of things to choose from for both breakfast and lunch and the restaurant staff were just lovely.

With regard to the food, eat out ,eat out ,eat out, breakfast was just ok the evening meal was very poor, more 2 star than 5.

BUT, very poorly staffed with only one waiter running breakfast and dinner with the bargirl having to help out on occasions, leaving the small bar unattended.

The hotel restaurant organisation is appalling and the layout of self service hot drinks and toast facilities is inexplicably positioned awkwardly behind a pillar resulting in unecessary queues and chaos at breakfast time.

We ate at the hotel every night so didn’t eat out but there were loads of restaurants and taverna’s by the sea.

The staff are at best cordial and the female manager is sour and sarcastic with no idea of the basics in customer service.

I was astonished to see that the kitchen staff smoked in the kitchen in between service and never even tried to hide the fact.

The look, feel and service of the hotel and staff was great and I cannot understand some of the comments from other holiday goers.

The staff were a generally friendly, although sometimes slow in service.

50 Euros a day to the gym with it’s three machines is charged at 20 Euros a week, the Sauna at 15 Euros for 15 minutes and a truly shocking 10 Euros for 15 minutes use of the outdoor Jacuzzi which is plonked next to the main swimming pool.

They have a pay-pay-pay policy for items that should be standard; pool towels, room safe, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, air conditioning, robes.

The jacuzzi was €5 per person for 15 mins, pool towels €1 per person per day, fitness room €20 per person per week despite the fact it was tiny.

In the week in August that we stayed we never heard any one complaining about the hotel, we were staying in a double room in the main part of the hotel which was clean, modern and much better than anything we have ever stayed in before in Greece!

The rooms are la good size and clean and the furnishings very design.

No absolutley not, the sun blazed, the pool was clean and our room was comfortable.
