trendy boutique hotel in a really pretty area close enough to very close to night market, the markets and the coffee shop. a mini bar fridge, an air conditioning, and a private safe available in the double room. fantastically friendly staff with a good portion of humor. cold drinks at roof top bar, marvellous service. everything modern.

The room we had included climate control, a personal safe and multi-channel television. Local and delicious breakfast with beautifully smooth cappuccino was a nice touch.

Located near the night market, this hotel is right in the center of Luang Prabang. The spacious rooms offer good air conditioning and WiFi. Guests can enjoy a generous and delicious breakfast, and there is even a bakery on the premises. You can also inquire about free transportation to the airport.

Some guests reported noise from café patrons passing by their rooms and a lack of tea-making facilities.

I recently stayed at Ancient Luangprabang for 5 nights during my vacation. The staff was sensational, always smiling, friendly, and willing to help. The hotel's location is perfect, right by the night market. The breakfast menu had a good variety to choose from. I also appreciated the hassle-free bookable free transfers to and from the airport. The restaurant at the hotel was great, and the cakes they offered were not to be disregarded. The terrace was enjoyable and pleasant, and the rooms were very spacious with a lovely atmosphere.

Nice room for the price we paid, nice mixture of modern (32in tv inside) and rustic feel of the town. Staff were friendly, although I feel it's typical of the people in town. They made us breakfast even if it's before the designated time as we had a flight to catch. Good value in general.

We weren't picked up during our arrival even if they say they provide free transfers from the airport and we weren't reimbursed of the cost we paid for the taxi. Booking it via Booked.net instead of their website was also an excuse they cited. It's only us$6 and we just wanted it back because of their claim of free transfers - we would've given it anyway as tip for their staff also. Don't arrange for the tours with the hotel, walk towards the main central portion of the town and arrange your tours there - we found out the hotel charged us us$5 each premium for arranging the tours on our behalf.

Luangprabang is a fantaastic destination and the Ancient Luangprabang does not on balance detract from it. The location is excellent for seeing the monks' morning procession, and the staff are very friendly.

The hotel and Booked.net were not sufficiently clear that there are two locations of the Ancient Luangprabang. The phone number provided by Booked.net was not the one for the location, and when our taxi driver called it he was directed to the wrong location. Fortunately it was not late at night. The staff's level of English is not strong. The hotel should get rid of their system of breakfast coupons givne out on a daily basis, since in fact there is no one to give them out when the breakfast starts, and in fact they are fortunately not needed.
