We, my wife and I, required a cheap place to stay whilst attending the nearby Finsbury Park Feis Music Festival. The Amhurst Hotel gave us all that and much more. We could walk to the festival from there and enjoy the local pub a short leisurely walk away which was quite close to a laundrette which we also used, and an excellent cafe, which the pub are happy to order meals from to consume in the pub. After the concert finished on the Sunday we also participated in the Pub Karaoke and really enjoyed the atmosphere from some of the outstanding local talent there and the drinks prices were always very competitive. We found all we encountered in the area very warm, friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay there again and hope to when the next Feis Music Festival happens next year.

The wireless internet connection in our ground floor room was unstable. The shower was quite small but adequate.

I stayed there with my two children 11 and 13 y/o and they enjoyed the socializing with the others staying/living there. The neighbourhood is predominantly Jewish so it's quiet and safe. It had a large backyard which made u feel as though u wern't really 20mins tube ride from the heart of London. As there was a kitchen it was very handy having a big supermarket a 5min walk.

no distance between anyone, staf or hotelgast, met many people from different country en a good privacy. no breakfast, but you can eat en make in the citchen wath you like.

a small cleaning up for the garden, but it was a nice feeling in fact more a housely feeling for a hotel.

The rooms and bathrooms were relatively clean. There was free wi-fi. Although in a dodgy area, miles from the centre of London, the location of the hotel is well served by bus, tube and train.

The bed was riddled with bed bugs. The room was stiflingly hot and the windows do not open. The Irish manager was extremely rude to me on first sight at check in.

It was very quiet, although it´s clearly a cheap and cheerful conversion of a period house.

Clen room with fridge and kettle, equipped kitchen. Near the subway and the frequent bus stops almost right outside. Good for short stay, and only sleeping.

Not very nice from the outside when you come not clear that the door was right. There is no reception. There were mice coming to our room.

Clean, nice room, with fridge and kettle. Kitchen with oven, hobs, kettle and toaster - very useful!Massive amazing victorian garden at rear, we ate out breakfast in the sun at a table. Very relaxing!staff were really helpful and friendly. It was quiet at night also, and the frequent bus stops almost right outside making it really easy to get to Camden and North London.

If you're expecting Budget accomodation, you'll go away satisfied. If you're expecting a luxury hotel at a silly price (as many previous reviewers obviously have) then you'll go away disappointed. The rooms are basic, reasonably clean, comfortable but not big, and have a TV and DVD(!) to keep you entertained. The quality of your stay is likely to be determined by other guests as much as by the owners - I had a couple of good days, but the loud drunken East European singing from the next room at 3am spoiled one night - cleanliness of shared facilities will depend on similar factors. Overall, I'd stay there again, and as for the negative things I've mentioned, I've encountered similar in much more expensive places. If you're coming by car, parking is limited, so arrive early.

I was a bit puzzled by the owner/receptionist (not sure which) repeatedly asking if I planned to behave myself. I'm nearly 50!

The hotel was good and comfortable. We went to London for the Arsenal game on Sunday (the Carling Cup Final). The manager (Andy, I guess) is also an Arsenal-fan so you'll have lots to talk about. First, it seemed to be located outside but it's only 20 minutes to Picadilly Circus. You'll be at Finsbury Park in 5 minutes. As an Arsenal supporter, the Amhurst Hotel is located perfectly. I will definitely go there again. The price was quiet cheap (50 pounds for a three bed room with it's own bathroom) and comfort you got was worth it.

There was no washing soap available in the bathroom.
