      Bed was ok

We could hear everything next door and it was very cramped. It was hard to get into the bathroom to shut the door. I should have believed the reviews I read but it looked so nice

      Closeness to the Convention Center

The booking agent was not truthful with the cost of the room. I was told the cost was $99/night but was not told that the $99 fee would take affect only after much higher fees for the first and second nights.

Stayed open for our arrival during hurricane Isaac. Helped us navigate the city during power outages etc. Friendly and helpful staff, great location, old building, decent rooms, great price. Easy to find even during a hurricane or while walking drunk from the french quarter. I would stay at the Ambassador again.

The building was old, so there was a lot of old building noises. I like old buildings so it was cool with me, but some of my friends didn't like it at all.

I booked 3 rooms at the Ambassador. My group only drove 2 vehicles and we didn't park at the hotel. The Hotel tried to slip in 3x32$ parking charges when I checked without asking if we needed parking !! They also have a mandatory 10$ "amenity fee" per room for long distance phones calls, gym etc. The fee is tacky It seems the hotel staff had fundraiser candy for sale on the reception desk... Again, Tacky. especially after getting fleeced for an "amenity fee" and almost fleeced for parking. The mattress in our room was cheap and wornout. Half the rooms in the second story of Lafayette wing are over the hotel bar. So, good luck sleeping, it's just like the band is playing in your room.

Bait and switch . My booking .com price was $148 for two nights. They added a mandatory amenity package that we did not use at $9.95 each night. Parking was $32 each night . My total bill went from $148 to $260.82. Many times there was no one at the desk or at valet. Bugs in the restroom, beverage machine broken(would not take money).Put in a room next to a compressor of some sort that ran constantly.

Staff was wonderful ,cost was good ,location is great to all avenues and within walking distance, sports bar was a nice relaxing place for evening dining. My husband and I are in or middle fifties and were there on a get a way trip and found it to be great.

Like another patron had posted, it does have thin walls but we never felt bothered by it at all.

      Location & bar.

Parking was inadquate for number of rooms. get there early or you may not have a place to park! Bedding was cheaply made. Motel needs upgrades! Read the fine print when you book thru because there are taxes that are not covered until you get there.

After reading lots of reviews, I decided to try it and was pleasntly surprised by the old french influence of the furniture had. The room was quite confortable for two.It was quite at night and had a pleasent view out the 8 ft tall windows. We will go back there.

I loved the decor at the hotel. It had a lot of character!! Staff was also very helpful, but maybe a little too relaxed for some. But I appreciated their casual approach.

I reserves and confirmed 4 rooms up till 2 hours before checking. They gave one of the rooms away and tried to move some of our party to another hotel. As this was unacceptable, we took 3 rooms and had to cram people in the small rooms that they had. We won't be coming back with that type of accommodation.

There were no windows or light in the room: it was a very spacious room yet it felt very closed in because there was no sunlight or windows. Beds uncomfortable but get the job done. Walls are very thin. No continental breakfast either
