Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos

Overall it is a good hotel with excellent facilities and in a prime location.

The welcome at the hotel , the location by the beach and yet handy for the town,the friendliness of the staff, the rooms,the bars and restaurants , could not be faulted.

We received a free room upgrade to Sea View and the hotel's in a good location - there are lots of good pubs.

I just wish they could do something with the airport!

Underground car-park so no worries about hiring a car and keeping it at the hotel.

Service generally within the hotel is very good and what you would expect of a 5 star hotel with the maid often coming again during the evening to freshen up the room while you are out remaking the bed and tidying up the bathroom.

After a few drinks we decided to go back to our room, where i found a mouse running over my clothes, after jumping on the bed whilst reporting this to reception we moved rooms.

Room - we booked junior suite which is a large room with a sofa bed.

The room was spotlessly clean, with maids coming in three times a day - they even come in to unmake your bed and close your curtains for going to bed!

Our only room niggle was that despite being a 'wedding couple' we were not given a double bed, but two singles pushed together.

Breakfast was a real feast, even so we still managed a light lunch al fresco and had a few evening meals in the restaurant where the excellent service was easily matched by superb cuisine.

The Food & Beverage Manager tracked us down in the bar to discuss our meal, after offering us a meal in the restaurant the next night (which we refused) he offered us a meal at the Poolside Grill the night after (which i must say was fantastic).

There is no need for lunch as the breakfasts will keep you going all day, and for dinner the best restaurant in the hotel is La Terraza (outside).

Breakfast is fantastic but avoid eating there otherwise as there are plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance at great prices (turn right outside the hotel).

In terms of restaurants we ate at the pool bar most days, which had a really nice snack menu.

The reception staff were functional and the concierge was pretty useless; if you want restaurant reviews ask your cab driver.

The hotel food and drink is not cheap, but then neither is the standard of fare on offer - it is all quite superb and the service, from the excellent Maitre D' through all his staff, is simply great.

We tried complaining even asking the Reception staff if we could see the Duty Manager but this was declined and we were told we would more or less have to put up with it.

We arrived here late afternoon and after being totally impressed with the reception area and the staff and then the rooms - we went straight to the pool and revelled in our fortune!

A real treat for all my family, the kids loved the pool, playground and kids club, hubby was happy in the bar while I made the most of the relaxing range of Spa Treatments!

There is underground car parking to keep your hired vehicle cool and safe.

We booked a room with a private plunge pool with a jacuzzi function.

Everything about it was superb - lovely clean room (pool/sea view, and we thought well worth the extra for the stunning sunsets), very well maintained poolside area/gardens and really excellent service - and as for the food.

2 weeks and it is really nice the staff are very friendly and there are loads of activities for the children it is clean and the rooms are lovely.

The rooms are very well equipped and spotlessly clean.

The poolview rooms have a spectacular view - especially at dusk and the hotel itself is clean.

The room was spotlessly clean and the food was great.
