Overview

Perfectly located in the center of the upscale Recoleta district, the Alvear Palace Hotel is considered as the most exclusive hotel in Buenos Aires and one of the top hotels in the world.

The colossal neoclassical chateau has been the focus of high society ever since its polished brass doors opened in 1932. A gilded classical confection full of marble and bronze, the Alvear combines Empire- and Louis XV-style furniture with exquisite French decorative arts. The historically important facade was restored in 2004 to its original glory.

Guest rooms combine modern conveniences with luxurious comforts, such as chandeliers, Egyptian cotton linens, and silk drapes. All rooms come with personal butler service, cell phones activated on demand, fresh flowers and fruit baskets, and daily newspaper delivery. Large marble bathrooms contain Hermès toiletries, and most have Jacuzzi baths.

The Alvear Palace is home to one of the best restaurants in South America (La Bourgogne) and serves an excellent Sunday brunch and afternoon tea in L'Orangerie.

Alvear Palace’s signature restaurant, La Bourgogne, prepares the finest French food in the city, as well as the best international dishes from around the world – and is the only Relais & Gourmand eatery in Argentina. It opens Monday to Friday: 12 to 3.30pm, Monday to Saturday: 7.30pm to midnight, Sundays closed.

L´Orangerie is a beautiful setting for breakfast or lunch, turning out food made from fresh local products and enjoyed within a soothing atmosphere.

The refined, wood-panelled Lobby Bar offers an appetizer menu and outstanding drinks. The Cigar Bar caters to a variety of passions, from top-notch cigars to gourmet chocolates to the finest liquors. It opens every day from 4pm till 2am.

Getting around.

Driving from the Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport take Richieri highway and follow the signs to 25 the Mayo highway. Take the 9 De Julio exit and drive straight 40 blocks until Posadas St. turn left into Posadas until Ayacucho St. turn left 1 block and the hotel entrance is on the left hand side. Transfers to the hotel can be arranged through the hotel concierge. A fee will be charged where applicable.

  In a wonderful city, restaurants and the amazing Recoleta cemetary in walking distance, the hotel is beautiful and something really special. Sometimes the staff tries to teach you manners, is just funny, concierge are great and the rooms are a little disappointing as. The food is excellent.

  Good location, elegant hotel and beautiful building inside. The historical style, concierge service was great and our suite was just beautifully appointed. Breakfast buffet was excellent and fruit each day were lovely touches. The pool was adequate and usually unoccupied.

  Great location and superb hotel. The lobby is beautiful and elegant, service are some of the best, oh, and the pictures of the pool are grossly distorted, 's just an oversized tub. Breakfast is also excellent, the spa is also wonderful.

  The complimentary breakfast buffet is scrumptious and the dining area absolutely beautiful, hotel is simply amazing, the butler service is superb as all the staff gracious, friendly and efficient. The rooms are fantastic, the best high tea we have ever had.

  Extremely well trained staff in all areas will assure many returns and this hotel is amazing and I highly recommend. The service is wonderful, the breakfast room in the morning is stunning and the brunch was huge and delicious.
