I was assured that the alternative hotel was the same price and quality.
To conclude: the hotel is not a damp, but it's not wonderful, specially in relation to the prices they ask for, but I think this is a common problem in Copenhagen, based on reviews from other travellers.
I booked this hotel through Booked.net, of course, paying in advance.
The location was good and departed by train was ideally situated near the railway station.
Great location, all at 2-5 mins walking distance and this was a lovely hotel close to the main train station.
Comfortable and spotlessly clean in a central location close to the Tivoli gardens, i just loved the feel of.

We were given the option of a refund of £20 per night, or a classic design room with a double bed.
We took the latter as the 'double' bed turned out to be two single beds pushed together!
Our room was plain but had a very large bed.
Room we booked was not at all like the one on website, requested non-smoking and double bed and got neither, but we complained and they moved us to a bigger room, but still a smoking room.
Staff very friendly, very good receptionists and there was even a cute little note under the bed that says "Yes.
The light lunch staff at bar/restaurant very friendly and helpfull.
The restaurant has wonderful dinners and breakfast buffet was good.
Location was perfect for our short trip and the staff recommended several wonderful restaurants for dinner that were within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Additionally the staff are quite helpful, breakfast is also high standard.

Overall the hotel was fine, the service was excellent - very helpful staff and the receptionists were wonderful.

The rooms are small and a bit noisy if you are on a road side, but it is clean, and loved the "environmentally friendly" way!
