This was the best value hotel I have ever stayed at.
The location is fine: close to some sites, the 212 collective bus stops around the corner, the walk to the centre along the Griboiedov Canal is lovely.
Ideal location, i liked most of all the design of the hotel and the Alexander House was the best.
The location is quite good, this hotel is very clean and the staff is polite and courteous.
The location is a fair bit of walk from the Metro, but if you do as the locals do to take a mini bus ride (like K-7and others) to and from the Metro, the location is not a problem at all.
It is approximately a 20 minute walk to the Sennaya Ploschad metro stop.
Our room had a large living room area and two bed rooms.
Alexander house is a lovely little hotel, the staff are attentive and room service / breakfast in bed is excellent too.
Decor was wonderful, the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, they gave me the room of their older daughter: had a huge bed.
The A-House is a very nice place, large shower-room - more like a suite.
The Hotel structure is very nice and comfortable, our room only had a shower - not for lack of space as the bathroom is big.
A large living area, the street is quiet and food is very good in the hotel's restaurant.
Food wise - we only had breakfast at the hotel and it was great.
Breakfast consists of eggs made to order, cold cuts, cheese, fish, blini, vegetables, pastries, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, etc.
The restaurant, which recently opened is outstanding!
This is the only small hotel in Russia that I know, which offers such a high quality of service, organization, assistance, design, breakfast pies, etc.
Staff for such a wonderful place, kind service and the Themed rooms are excellent.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
I am a regular visitor to the Alexander House and continue to be impressed by the service and attention to detail.
This hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and almost everyone on staff speaks English.
The hotel also has a Banya spa - it's a great experience but be prepared to be hit with twigs by a stern looking Russian man!
If I were the owner, I'd offer a courtey shuttle a few times a day.
A previous reviewer mentioned the spa next door.
Marvelous view out onto a frozen canal from our room and the hotel is very clean and comfortable.
