The location is good for being by the beach with fantastic sea views, however it was a good 20 minute walk to the Intra Muros.
Hotel Alba seems from a Somerset Maugham short story - a residential hotel of 14 rooms facing Le Plage - gin & tonics in the afternoon as the waves crash almost against the full picture window - cognacs & coffee on the terrace before the the walk for "moules & chips" for lunch - impossibly small bedrooms and tiny showers that somehow work - fresh mandarins for breakfast with large, large cups of coffee - relentless promenading outside the window of lovers & those remebering & wonderful performing dogs - and the the beach changes before your gold armchair to reveal hundreds of metres of flat tanned sand - and then you pick up your pen and write some more for there is so much to say.
Although the bathroom was perfectly adequate, the room itself was in need of a paint job and the floor was linoleum.
Perhaps the remaining rooms in this hotel were fine but our room was far less than the three star (***) rating claimed.
One could see the ocean by standing up and looking across the sidewalk, but it was certainly not visible from the bed (even sitting up) or from a chair.
A wonderful hotel in a great location, very friendly staff and room nice decorated.
Views beautiful and there are good sea food restaurant near the hotel.
One of the highlights of our visit were the meals we took at the Restaurant le Ty-Coz which was about 500 yards from the hotel at 57 Chaussee du Sillon.
Fantastic view of the seaside from the bar area.
Breakfast consisted of coffe/tea, toast/croissants, cereals and the usual cheeses and meats,.
However, when we went to the bar to check out the fantastic view, we were continually ignored in our efforts to get some drinks and ended up leaving.
The Alba is quite a small hotel with friendly staff.
Service was second to none with the chef and owner visiting us during each meal to enquire if we were enjoying it and to catch up on what we had done that day.
Malgré nos protestations le personnel de cet hôtel n'a rien voulu savoir et nous a précisé que d'autres clients s'en étaient plaints mais que la Direction de l'hôtel lui avait demandé d'appliquer cette majoration le week-end.

The bar area had fantastic views over the beach, i found the hotel to be very welcoming and the rooms were very clean.
