The location was not bad. 10 minute walk to plaza mayor. The rooms were very nice and clean. But, The hotel staff was most unwelcoming. Will not stay there again. Y. Madrid

The staff were pleasant and professional

The hotel is not well situated for the okd town - there are much better located hotel. Its a good 15/20 minute walk on a very noisy main road into Plaza Mayor. Depsite the website saying it has satellite tv, it doesn'T. It has very old analogue TVs with only a small range of Spanish tv. The bar is simply part of the massive entrance hall so is totally souless and we saw hardly anyone using it. They can't supply an iron and ironing board, your only option is to put it into the hotel laundry just to have something ironed. I assume it was pretty expensive but can't be sure as there was no cost for ironing only on the price list althougth the bag said it was an option. The decor is totally over the top but so appalling its funny so if the rest of the hotel was ok it woudn't matter. Was ok value because we got a big discount on your site - as rack rate it would be very poor value

The hotel has clearly been 5 star in its time but is a little out of step in todays world. The greeting we received from the concierge when we arrived at the hotel was excellent and this continued with assistance with our baggage trough to parking our 4x4 in the underground garage.

Not a complaint merely an obsevation . there was no information available advising the guest on what facilities were avalable in the hotel either in the room or in the reception area , we might have tried a meal or room service if it had. The bar really needs updating as it not really a bar more a drinks cubby hole in the main reception area. That said the area in Salamanca centre is vibrant with bars and cafe's so perhaps thats why. Overall a nice one night stop between Portugal and Santander.

Excellent location, very good value for money. We got an upgrade to a superior room (in fact it was a suite) although we had found a special price.

        Very well appointed, luxury rooms

The bed was two beds pushed together but made up seperately. Maybe that's common.

i was particularly fond of its location.

I thought the decoration was a bit old-fashioned.I think they should have natural instead of artificial flowers all over the hotel.

The beauty of the building, the proximity to the old town and our student daughter living in Salamanca. Exquisite furnishings in room, bath, hotel.

The electronic keycards provided for entering the room stopped functioning after about 36 hours. We got new ones 1 or 2 times each during our 4 night stay. No big problem, but perhaps fixable?

The hotel was beautiful and the room was large and clean. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, large and very nice - a lot of marble and glass and double sinks. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything (Plaza Mayor and all the sights) yet away from the hustle bustle. Was also walking distance to the train station. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. Lastly, there was a free computer available for guests in the lobby.

My brother-in-law was given a hard time about ordering just a coffee when he got up in the morning. He did not want to spend for the buffet breakfast since we were going out later.

This hotel is convenient for walking from the Renfe train station (about ten minutes by foot) and for exploring in Salamanca. It is right on the edge of the old town. We really appreciated the complimentary use of the computer for internet access. Very nicely appointed decor.

There were no English language tv channels!!!!! And this is categorized as a five star hotel!???? We understand that every language cannot be represented in a tv menu, but surely this hotel accomodates many international guests and should realize that English is a major language in the world.

Concierges were excellent; taking all problems from parking/stopping/dealing with luggage in very busy area for traffic. This is very important when, like us, we are driving in an unfamiliar and busy city.

Breakfast area and staff awareness could be improved, but not a major problem
